I'm a huge Coldplay fan like everyone else around here but it is baffling me why they haven't scheduled a show in Portland or Seattle on their current tour. Is there something wrong with the Northwest that they don't want to come here? I used to live in Phoenix and it's driving me nuts that they will have played 2 shows there in the last year and the closest one to me has been in the Bay Area of California. I'd appreciate it if anyone has any info as to why they've neglected us in the Northwest US.

Except that the most people in the nation with at least a college level education live in the Northwest. I'd appreciate less ignorance.

So then why are they scheduled to play in places like Detroit, St. Paul, Kansas City or Oklahoma City? All of those places seem far less appealing in musical history than Seattle or Portland and I know they're not huge media markets either.

I don't think they've neglected it necessarily... they've played here in Toronto back to back and Montreal back to back and even in Ottawa but thats it in Canada. Nothing out west either. I'm thinking they are probably looking to tour the west coast more consistently in 2009... after all Chris did say in Toronto that he'd see us in '09. I think their schedule for the VIVA tour has been less than stellar. They did North America June/July/August then went to Europe only to come back and do a single Canada show (Ottawa) and take off down to the states for a few weeks only to go back to Europe again towards November/December... This is my opinion.. if I were you I would just be patient and in the meantime watch all the youtube videos from everyone :)
