here's a little something from their forum

Things are looking good for us here in the quarter finals. We're currently up 74% - 26%. If this holds, we're up next against Coldplay from Coldplaying.com next Tuesday, December 16th. We will definitely have a tougher competition with them. We have a much larger member base here on GDC compared to the two forums we've gone up against so far, but Coldplaying has a total of 37,000 members, compared to our 29,000. They also seem to have much more active members during the day, so it will be not such an easy win as we've shown in these two. We really need to get the vote out. They had help from the official site (see post here), while I don't think we need help from GreenDay.com, we just need to do our best to reach everyone else. I really doubt there are people who visit GD.com who don't already visit GDA.

 

Just for some friendly motivation, here are some quotes that should help get us excited. As a reminder, I do not want people going over to the Coldplaying forums and causing trouble (GreenDayForever08, specifically you)

Green Day isnt even good....

Love that post... it'll be hard because I'm a pretty big fan of Green Day myself and it'll be a tough match because it's two very varying moods of music against each other

haha, that's definitely the truth about the varying moods.

 

i definitely appreciate green day, but i haven't listened to them in years, and i have to be in the right mood. it's going to be two different types of fans voting the next time around. and i'd never vote against coldplay or coldplaying for anyone, even radiohead or the strokes. if it was just artist vs. artist, the choice between coldplay and the beatles would pain me, but i'd have to go coldplay, maybe.

I'm somewhat embarrassed to say green day was the first band I really got into five or more years ago. Until then I was never really into music or actual bands, only a handful of song from the radio...but I did like boulevard of broken dreams when I heard it one night and looked up the band the next day. Dookie is a decent punk album and AI isn't bad either. I liked it because of the simple rythm and melody, but a couple years later I came across coldplay, and realized how one-dimensional green day was in comparison. These days I'm happy to say they've disappeared from my mp3 player (save for a couple songs :P) and have been replaced by a mountain of coldplay, u2, radiohead and sigur ros.

I have absolute confidence we'll win this (I did for the last 2 rounds) xP

We'll never win against green day, we're nowhere near as good as them, they'e like the best band ever, compared to us, even the coldplay lead singer said that they suck compared to green day :rolleyes:
