Armed Gang Hold Up Shop For Mints

A masked thug pointed a gun in the face of a female shop assistant during a raid that saw three packets of mints stolen.

An accomplice tried to force open the tills as the youth waved the handgun around in the newsagents in Bootle, Merseyside.

One of the gang members threw a stack of newspapers at the terrified worker while another prowled the aisle.

But when the gang of four were unable to open the hi-tech tills, they fled with two bags of Mint Imperials and a bag of Everton Mints.

Police said the woman was left "extremely upset and shaken but unhurt" by her ordeal.

Store owner Mark Felton, 49, told the Liverpool Echo newspaper: "This is only the second time in all my years here that we've been held-up like this.

"These were only kids. I don't think they were any more than 16 or 17. How have they got a gun? It's shocking. But it's the way society is today.

"I'm just glad no-one was hurt."

The four robbers, all wearing dark-coloured tracksuits with hoods and scarves covering their faces, were captured on CCTV.

The footage - which also shows the gang walking down Litherland Road before they entered Felton's Stores - is now being enhanced by police

Stupid idiots, robbing shops for mints. lern2rob if you're going to do it at all instead of looking like dimwits
