MichaelScarn
What would you consider to be the Coldplay "brand'? What do you think they represent? What is your take on the fact that the band in the past has not had endorsement deals with corporate products? Do you think this makes them stand out as a major artist in today's music scene? Tnspieler1012
I think they're in a similar boat with U2. I liked Bono where he was criticizing punk rockers who are like "I'm true to the music man, I like keeping it real and I refuse becoming a slave to the Corporations." I always loathed the punk mindset of avoiding poularity at all costs. If you truly love the music you make, you'll want the whole world to hear it. People hate on U2 and Coldplay for appearing in Itunes commcercials and what not, yet the're doing a million-times more for their music than some indie-dousche sitting around proud that he never let people purchase his songs. The Escapist
What about that rolling stone interview with chris last year when they asked him why he writes stuff on his hand and he replied saying that being a rockband is doing what you believe in and I you want to write something on your hand then you've got to do it. Something like that wasn't it?

PlayingCold
Coldplay are a band of friends that make music that they enjoy. I don't think for a moment they would be where they are now without their friendship and passion for music.
