This song is stuck in my head today...

Talk about the song that won't leave your head at the moment

Today: "Knights of Cydonia" by Muse.

question: Is Muse a legit band? I mean, are they to be taken seriously? they seem like a british pop/rock band that just never really made it state side. Why is that?

I don't find there is anything innovative or groundbreaking about there music.

They are not huge in the US but they have a pretty good fanbase in UK. I say take them seriously but they are no Radiohead, no matter how much people say their singer sounds like Thom Yorke.

Ahhhh. No, Matt Bellamy right? So doesn't sound like Thom Yorke. If someone sounded like Thom Yorke, he just wouldn't be special.

I think that song killed Muse for me. I just couldn't take them after hearing that.

the part that's stuck in my head is in the middle of the song to the end

the song is "What Would I Want Sky" (aka. Blue Sky)-Animal Collective

It is the only Muse song I know. I heard it first on (yes) Guitarhero III. It's mystical

I was refering to the Radiohead song I posted...

I would've listened to it but I was too busy listening to Knights of Cydonia.

We have amuse thread you know. And while it's not always my cup of tea, they are definitely legit. They're one band that's completely failed to make it big across the pond, I hate KOC just because most Americans only really know it from guitar hero. Definitely watch some of their HAARP DVD. If anything, you'll be impressed at how Bellamy can maintain his ridiculous falsetto while playing amazing guitar. His use of the fuzz factory in his guitar, is in itself, fascinating.

What I like the most about Muse is how he integrates Rachmaninovvian classical piano into his songs (see Butterfles & Hurricanes!)

Naturally I dislike a lot about the band as well, but they are quite talented definitely should be taken seriously. Despite their nil success in the states, they are, apparently, HUGE in britain.

I'm sure there are better ambassadors for the band on this forum than me, they aren't even one of my favorite bands, but check out these videos. The first one really sold them for me.

and while it's still stuck in your head...

Well I did not find the Muse thread. I looked and used seach. But anyway, this thread is not about my one question about Muse. It's a thread for bitching about a song you have stuck in your head and won't go away no matter what. I think maybe people didn't pick up on that.

I didn't, In your post you mainly just asked about the band, so I assumed that was what the thread was about. Sorry. I hope I helped answer your question though...

It's all good. Sometimes I'll listen to a song by a band, think it's really good, then want to know more about the band, but when I see there's a distinct lack of interest in said band, I have to wonder if it's worth it for me or not. Though, I try not to let peoples' opinions sway me TOO much.

Good thinking ;)

And going back to the thread topic, kraftwerk's "computer love" has been stuck in my head today.
