GARY BARLOW PLANNING CHARITY CONCERT

Take That star Gary Barlow enjoyed raising money for charity during his Mount Kilimanjaro climb so much he is staging a star-studded concert to benefit another good cause.

Gary Barlow is organising a star-studded charity show.

The Take That star - who climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for charity last year - wants to stage a one-off spectacular at London's Royal Albert Hall in honour of British organisation Children In Need.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Gary has really been bitten by the fundraising bug. He was amazed by people's generosity during his Kilimanjaro climb.

"As soon as he got off the mountain he made the decision to lend his support to more charities.

"Children In Need bosses have discussed a number of ideas with him but Gary thought it would be a good idea if he could put his musical skills to their best use."

Gary is understood to have asked Coldplay rocker Chris Martin and 'Bleeding Love' singer Leona Lewis to take part in the concert, and is also planning to perform with his Take That bandmates.

The event - which will be hosted by British comedian Peter Kay - will also be filmed for a special DVD.

The source added: "He knows a lot of people and is widely respected so putting together a star bill has been plain-sailing. It's shaping up to be a very special night."

British charity Children In Need was created to help improve the lives of disadvantaged kids in the UK.

Thanks for posting it, Mich!

It's all over the internet already, even German news articles!!!

I really hope this will happen.

Ohhh, interesting :surprised:

ooh:smug: good!:laugh1:

Why didnt they ask Coldplay instead of Chris alone??

I might have to try to go to that. I love the RAH - it's my favourite venue in the whole world.:D

no different to Gary Barlow being invited to War Child without Take That, or even Bono without U2 come to that.

depends on how they're thinking of working it. if they're going to mix a few artists up to collaborate on songs, it may well work better with one rather than the whole band.

I don't think Back for Good at War Child would have been half so good, if the rest of Take That were there. Gary & Coldplay was a great blend.

I totally agree. They're not joined at the hip, after all................... ;)

I knew there already had to be a thread about this.

It seems we're getting some more solo Chris Martin stuff this year to look forward to (this and the other charity festival in the US).
