usually there's two ways that people do it:

 

1. use the songs YOU like, so it don't have to use only one genre, but if you want do feel free.

 

2. wait until you be paired with the other user, so you check their last.fm and tailor a mixtape that that person may like. -could be common bands you like, and some others that person seem to not know-.
