that's ok too ;)

but as much as some advice: do not go for a real acoustic!

you must have a well temperatured room (steady temperature, not hot & cold changing). important is also that there is no floor heating! the room mustn't be too humid but also not too dry, and last but not least they need to be re-tuned every couple of months (3-4 i guess). (oh, not to forget: they are hell of a lot expensive!)

Heh, "real" acoustics aren't particularly demanding if you have an air conditioned house. If not, then you may have a bit of trouble. As for tuning - it depends on how much you practice. If you practice 1-2 hours a day, then once every 4-6 months is a good interval for tuning. If you practice less than an hour a day, than 6-12 months is a good interval.

Go for the Yamaha CLP. I had a acoustic Yamaha before.. replaced it for the CLP.. it sounds even better... and you have more functions.. The second piano sound(on my piano) is the actual sound as many Coldplay recordings.. they are also digital Yamaha.. and from the same soundbanks(I already checked it out a few times and it realy is)

The strings are awesome.. 2nd electric piano and 2nd piano sound both together will make your day!

Get the Yamaha CLP. HANDS DOWN. I bought a CLP 270 in February, and it was THE BEST PURCHASE I'VE EVER MADE. It feels just like a real piano with the weighted keys, but you never have to deal with tuning it (which is a rather expensive hidden cost in a real piano). Plus, it has all of the tech features of a keyboard (and then some). As far as acoustics, there's even this feature called an iAFC setting that you can turn on, which somehow senses the surroundings and adjusts the output to mimic the acoustics of a 'real' piano. It's amazing. I went on vacation for a week, and I suffered from withdrawal. I missed my CLP so much! :bigcry:

GET IT GET IT GET IT. It is also worthwhile to see if any dealers in your area have one in their store on sale. I was able to purchase the floor model for half price (I mean really, who cares if other people touched it). Do whatever you need to do just GET IT GET IT GET IT.

Been playing piano since I was 5, I'm 53, do the math. Always had acoustic, lost an upright baby grand because I couldn't afford the $1000+ to have it moved. If you have the money, the space go for the Steinway Grand. Got my first electric and I'm sold on it. Learning any song with my Ipod connected to the piano so I can referance to the original, record tracks. Never needs tuning, 2 people can move. Playing Christmas song on the pipe organ and I could be heard for blocks if I turned up the amps I have attached.

Got a second hand Yamaha CLV today for £600. Delighted, as it's my first digital piano and it sounds awesome. :D
