Guess what, I got a 65 in my history test and I couldn't be happier. :wacky:

...That's actually the lowest grade I've ever gotten on a test though. :uhoh:

What's a 65? :uhoh:

I don't know the American grades ... only the A B C D F ones. :uhoh:

It's a D.

But I thought I did worse. :wacky:

And it's out of 100.

It's okay ... you passed, didn't you?

I still have to correct my essay. The professor said it's very good ... so hopefully I get an A. :wacky:

Good luck. :P

I got an A on my first English assignment today. :wacky:

That's good.

You're in college, right? Is that the same as a university? I don't quite understand the American educational system.

Yes, it's the same as university. :P Do you call high school "college" in Europe?

No, I guess every state in Europe has a different system. High School is like a "Gymnasium" (not a place to work out :p ) in Germany. It's quite complicated ...

What are you studying then?

It's so confusing.

My major is accountancy.

Ohh ... I had a course in accountancy too ... I didn't really like it to be honest.

It's really boring. :p I have one class for it this semester, and I'm the only freshman.

I'm thinking about changing my major, but I don't know what I'd change it to.

So you can just change your major? What would the alternatives be?

Even though I was already here

Yes, I can change anytime. The earlier the better. :P

Aaand I could change to anything.

Ok, I don't really get it ... I can't change unless I want to start right from the beginning.

Well, if I did change, I'd have to make up for the credits I needed for that specific major. :P Which could mean another year or two.

But in the first year, everyone mostly does the basics (math, history, science, english, etc.) so it wouldn't hurt me at all to change now.

You all have to do the same basics?

I don't have to do maths, history etc. that's why I went to uni.

We do. :\ It's so we're "well-rounded," they say.

How many years of university do you take before you graduate?

Well, it depends on what you study. My degree's called "Magister" and it normally takes 9 semesters, that means 4 1/2 years.

But everything gets changed to Bachelor/Master now. The bachelor takes 3 years and the Master another 2.

Here you have to take four years, or however long it takes a person to get all the credit hours needed, to get a bachelor's degree. Master's degree is also another 2 years.

My major actually has a five-year thing where I get both my bachelor's and master's degree when I graduate.
