We're on month 10 in the new administration. How much longer till we can stop blaming this on Bush? Remember that Bush and Obama had the same policy for fixing the problem - Obama voted for the stimulus as a member of the Senate, and Bush signed it into law. Space Cadet
Uh... this will always be blamed on Bush. Because it was the policies of his administration (and to some extent Clinton's) and the consumer culture those policies encouraged that we're dealing with right now. You can't have debt financed "endless" growth without consequences. No amount of stimulus can change that. Not until the mess is cleaned up. But it is softening the blow, keeping the proverbial wheels from falling off the cart, and may yet keep a full-blown depression away. Pity Obama seems to be hell bent on destroying it all with his protectionism. Still Bush's fault, though.

an angel
That must have been the only thing Obama voted for while he was a senator.

Pity Obama seems to be hell bent on destroying it all with his protectionism. Still Bush's fault, though. It's just as much Congress's problem as Bush's, both parties. But Obama's policies exacerbated the problem to the point we are at now. Still Bush's fault, though. This has been about 30 years in the making. I believe 27 out of the last 28 years credit expanded more than the economy, this problem began a long time ago and was swept under the rug by presidents who only made it worse, this did not start with Bush or Clinton, they just swept it under the rug and made it worse. That is exactly what Obama is doing. Real growth in the US peaked in the mid 90's, the S&P 500 has had a negative decade, this is bigger than just Bush or Clinton or Obama. To keep up with population growth we need to add 250,000 jobs a month. Here is the major chart everyone should see. http://market-ticker.denninger.net/
