Are Homeless People Just a Little Bit Funny?

Featured Replies

Well, in the daytime at least.

Stumbling around, shouting at strangers, pounding car bonnets as they walk infront of them, what a lol! :awesome:

Has anyone ever had a homeless town/city character?

We've had a few in my nearest town. One of them was always on a bike, and was either in my nearest or one that was about 40 miles away from it. And he always had toilet roll in shopping bags on the back of his bike. You can imagine the myths that emerged from that.

Another one was this gigantic guy, nearing 7 foot tall, and was renowned for just stirring shit up for no reason. Never seemed to be drunk or drugged up, but he'd just get unexplicably angry.

Well the first guy is still making stories, the latter made me really think about it. Apparently he joined the church and has gone to Peru and started doing charity work, really weird. I guess as a cruel kid and hearing about these guys and just laughing about the random stories that comes from homeless bums, kinda de-sensitised me, but that story made me look at them in a different way, not hopeless at all.

With all this said, I've always sympathised with the homeless in some ways, Shelter is a homeless charity and one of the only ones with a strong percentage of donated money actually going to help the homeless, so I've supported it.

Nonetheless, there's still a part of me that hear's about these ridiculous stories about homeless 'characters' and it cracks me up a bit. Is there a part of you like that?

There was this homeless guy up in the city who sorted the trolleys outside the shopping center....for the €1s i'm guessing

He was just there in all old clothes...waiting for the trolleys.

I don't know if he's still there.

Go check on him The ELS

I recently visited Boston, and while we were eating at an Uno at the outside seating area, a homeless man came up to us and shouted, "Don't worry, everyone! The ladies are on their way!" :laugh4: It was hilarious. Then he went to this group of guys across from us and started cracking jokes. They gave him some money, and he goes, "Thanks guys. Now I'ma gonna get me some donuts from Dunkin Donuts." (He was a larger man, if you get my meaning) So he went to Dunkin Donuts and got like a dozen donuts. :blank:

There was a guy who were always standing by the stair at the subway station where I live, he was just almost there every time and smiled at me when I walked by. I haven't seen him in a month now

And also there's this guy who plays the harmonica while holding a radio to his ear, he's actually kinda famous here haha

Hahahaha! Not surprised to see this thread turning a bit freakshow already.

Some homeless people are funny, and I think they try to be. But I really feel bad when I see them holding up signs that say "Mother of 3, Recovering from Stroke" or a 16 or so year old girl holding up a sign that says "Parents died in Car Accident". :\

ok so there's this person who looks like a homeless person...he/she just wears undershirt an pants all the time. And it always confuse us whether that person is a he or she. And he/she seem scary, because he/she looks like those typical witch from those fantasy stories (I SWEAR). But we discovered that he/she lives in one of those pretty townhouses in our village...I still don't know if that creature is a he or she :blank:

homeless people can be funny... especially when walking in NYC, sadly there are many of them.

then again you see a lot of weird people in NYC

My psychology teacher told us a story about when he and his family were vacationing in Alaska, they were walking through a city one day and saw something odd. It was a homeless person who had a baseball cap over his right fist held in front of his face. He was having a shouting argument with the baseball cap.

Yes we all laughed. It's just funny shit.

There are a few odd figures around where I live but none of them is homeless as far as I know but they all have nicknames and can sometimes give people a good laugh eventhough it's kindof sad to see them sometimes :uhoh:. Most of them are alcoholics and they can be a real pain in the ass if they are out wandering the steets after having a few beers. One of them was even wanted by the police since he could just snap and get really angry, threaten people and so on.

Two people are pretty famous around here though, we call them James Bond and Thomson :wacky: there's a rumour going around now though that Thomson is dead but no-one know for sure I guess. She has some kind of disability so she'd go around and ask people for money, like "Do you have a coin?!" over and over again or she'd ask for painkillers or something else but she was never satisfied or anything haha so if someone would give her what she asked for she'd only ask for more :awesome:

I know this one homeless guy who lives in my nearest big city though and he's pretty famous too, there's even a facebook group made about him haha. I've only seen him a few times but he drives around in a bike taxi if you know what I mean  apparently that's how he makes his money, he drives aorund people for a small fee and he's said to be a nice, funny and generous person.
