A furious holidaymaker changed her name by deed poll to include the words 'I Hate Thomas Cook' after a spat with the travel agent.

Austin Kettle, 26, now answers to the full name of 'Mrs Lorraine Darla I Hate Thomas Cook And It's Associates Big Shot Company Treading on the Little Guy Leeks'.

She took the dramatic step after Thomas Cook told her she would have to pay a fee to change the surname on her honeymoon booking.

Austin, from Ipswich, Suffolk, was set to become plain old Mrs Leeks when she ties the knot with her fiance next year and last month booked their honeymoon to Gambia under her married name.

But after realising her married name would not match her maiden name on her passport, she contacted Thomas Cook to amend the booking details.

When the company said she would have to pay a fee to remedy the problem, Austin reacted by changing her entire name.

She said: 'At first I was a bit upset but it was just a bit of a crazy moment and I decided to do it.

'I think my fiance thinks I'm crazy. The amusing thing is my fiance will have to say my new name during the wedding ceremony.'

A spokeswoman for Thomas Cook said all their sales consultants were trained to give accurate advice and the extra fee was standard procedure.

She said: 'All customers are advised that the name on their booking must match the name on their passport.'
