Enter 'the fat one': Former N Sync star Joey Fatone shows he has piled on the pounds on weight loss show

He was cruelly dubbed 'the fat one' during his time in famous 90s boyband N Sync.

But after losing around 40lbs when he appeared on U.S. TV talent show Dancing With The Stars, it seemed Joey Fatone had finally put his nickname behind him.

However, appearing on American weight loss show Dance Your Ass Off last night, the 33-year-old star shocked viewers as he showed his weight gain in a tight black T-shirt and jeans as he was introduced by presenter Mel B.

Boyband star: Joey looked a far cry from his days in 90s group N Sync

Joey, who shot to fame as part of 90s group N Sync, looked a far cry from his boyband days as he judged the 'prom night' episode when six contestants had to perform their routines and show they had lost weight.

And, after coming in as the runner-up in season 4 of Dancing With The Stars in 2008, Joey was deemed the perfect candidate for a celebrity guest judge spot.

Speaking about his appearance before shooting the show, Joey told U.S. website Entertainment Weekly: 'It’s an amazing show as far as getting a chance for people to lose weight and have fun with it. That’s the whole thing with it.

'It’s pretty cool where they do the whole Biggest Loser thing where you work, and you work, and you work. But in this show, you’re working out, but you’re also having fun.

'You’re learning a dance. You’re learning something that some of them have never done before. And to be able to feel free and to feel confident. It gives them great self-esteem to get out there and to go and dance.'

After appearing on Dancing With The Stars, Joey credited the combination of dancing and dieting for helping him lose a staggering 40lbs.

Joey also followed the NutriSystem diet plan, which sees the dieter stick to pre-packaged meals, before appearing on the U.S. TV talent show.

However, when he returned to the Dancing With The Stars stage in May, Joey revealed his weight gain was down to his role in new horror movie Inkubus.

He said at the time: 'My beard is scruffy and nasty. I haven't lost any weight because I'm doing this film.'

Joey also recently appeared as Franz Liebkindin the Pittsburgh CLO version of The Producers, which ran earlier this month.
