KU? *assumes Kansas University*

Well, my 30-year-old half brother is a doctor. It's sort of strange, though; while I used to love biology, I'm much more interested in math now. So I'd like to have a job that only has pure math in it. Which basically consists of being an actuary, a math professor, or a theoretical physicist.

That last option is extremely appealing to me.

Yup! :nice: (Go Jayhawks!)

My uncle is a doctor at the Mayo Clinic down in Phoenix (he's a kidney specialist . . . I think a nephrologist is the word I'm looking for )

A theoretical physicist sounds fun

Yes, but I don't know how hard the questions were, or whether the questions are weighted by difficulty :P

I thought I typed that >___> Well, there are 36 'points' possible (but very rarely do people get that score), and I believe the score is averaged out between four or five categories.

I don't really know how the ACT works, it's weird :P, but you have to get a minimum score of 21 to be considered by most colleges.

According to Wikipedia, getting a total of ≥1280 points (which I basically did) means you're in the 88th percentile of college-bound seniors. Which I wasn't, and still am not. :P

Also: ACT equivalent of 1270 is 27. SCORE!

Yeah, my brother's an oncologist. Also known as a cancer researcher.

Yeah, well, look at the median income for all three of those jobs. :charming:

I see :blank:

*tries to count THAT in her school system*

Don't bother, it's the last year of college if you're getting a 4-year degree.

Ummm they're our rivals.

:snobby:

Is it coincidence that we've beaten them in football almost every time in the last 15 years?

Football is POINTLESS. At least American football is.

 I just took the pre-ACT (don't ask me why I had to take it since I'd already taken the real thing :P) and we were supposed to get our results back this month BUT WE HAVEN'T YET :bigcry:

 I don't even want to know how those people converted across the scoring system >__>

The only reason that I didn't get any higher on the math section is because I didn't know any geometry at the time.

That's pretty good then! I ended up with a 34 on the ACT and I think 2230 on the SAT (on the 2400 scale...they keep changing it).

You're smarter than me so you'll do better

yeah I just found that out

is that master then or bachelor?

It's usually a bachelor. But I'm in a master's degree program for chemistry, too. So I'll be graduating with a bachelor's in biology and a master's in chemistry. I worked my ASS off. I HATE chemistry :phu:

Bachelor's degreee. I think Master's is six years, and I'm pretty sure a PhD is 8 years. Maybe 10, I'm not sure.

The mayoclinic!? I love their articles :shy:

I took the ACT and SAT. They were the WORST.

I always forget which one to guess on and which one not to.

Aww, Brent complimented me.

I hate the 2400 system.

..my oncologist brother got a perfect 1600.

Hi Amy!

It's sounds like you did pretty well yourself!

Why are all Coldplayers so smart?

There was this index correlating popular music to intelligence level based on standardized test scores. Coldplay was one of the highest, and Lil' Wayne was lowest (). I'll try to find it.

:P Some Gifted requirement thingy

Probably

Basketball is obsolete. And we're currently ranked higher. Suck it.

Rank means nothing. You know Pitt State? The team that just won the Division II National Championship? They started out the year with a low rank :charming:

I think you don't guess on the ACT, but do guess on the SAT. I remember I left a few blank on the ACT, I remember, and I did pretty well. I don't know.

That sounds right  Because on one of them, if you guess wrong, points are actually taken off your score.
