I have faith that the jury of 10 people will be able to put that stuff aside though. I guess that makes this award a little different than a Grammy/Juno/etc.

I think either way, there are going to be problems. Should Arcade Fire lose, you'll have people outraged because "The Suburbs" is such a quality album and should've won. If the award is given to Arcade Fire, you'll have people whining about how they've won so much already and how someone else should've been given a shot. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Yup. And it's unfortunate it is going to happen that way. Because we have 9 other pretty good albums (some much better than others) that are getting overshadowed because of it. I don't blame Arcade Fire.....more so the way that we critique/judge who and why things should be popular etc.

Yeah, it's not their fault at all. They're just doing their job as musicians, which is to entertain us and make a living doing something they love to do. This whole thing shows how hype can be a double-edged sword.

Yup. I would love to discuss the whole hype being a double sword issue, but I really should go to bed now.

Me and Mike were actually having a pretty good side discussion about this topic via MSN tonight.

People are just really quick to jump on and off of bandwagons haha

Nah, that's fine. It's 1 am here, so I really should be in bed myself.

Meh. It happens.
