I'm one of those in the minority that really loves the effects in MM -- I think they certainly fit the context of the song, in that it almost sounds like Chris is singing into a megaphone or over a telephone or whatever.

 

The live version is good and loud, and I'm glad there are things in each of the versions that I can pick out as favourites.

 

As of yet, I am still to be disappointed with anything they've released for this new era. The backing tracks suit each song pretty wonderfully, I think.

 

The only thing I dislike about Major Minus is the rough guitar before the chorus. Something else needs to be behind it.

 

I agree completely! I have yet to hear anything bad from this era.
