Teens who think they´re so mature and adult annoy me so much. That alone just makes you immature.

Define what you mean by 'teen'. If you're referring to 12-15 yr olds, then I kinda agree with you. But I think if you're older than that then you have a right to act mature. I'm just generalising here, I know there are some very mature 12 year olds and extremely immature 17 year olds.

Rant time.

The problem is, if I would rather have serious conversations than giggle about boys and gossip and party, why should that bother you? I believe the teenage years should not be all about having fun and doing whatever you want, but about preparing to be an adult and to stop acting like a child. So what if someone would rather talk about important things than about boys? A teen should be able to act mature as long as they're not acting like they're better than everyone else. If they're not mature and they try to act like they are, then that's another thing entirely. But just because teens are expected to be a certain way, doesn't mean they have to be that way. My older sister was very mature. She got married at the age of 19. You might think that's too young to be getting married, but she was ready because of how mature she was. She's now been married over a year. I made her wedding cake, by the way. :smug2: One thing that really bothers me about most teenage girls, is that they all (or at least in America) dress the same because of trends and such. They have little creativity and personality in their clothes, because they're just dressing like everyone else. I however, don't care about fashion trends, but I like to dress with style and class. I get so many comments on what I wear by people of all ages. From people my grandparents' age to people my age. With the way I see most of girls dressing in The United States, I don't think many 70 year olds would be complementing them. I'm not saying everyone has to dress like me, I'm just saying people should be more original. I think my point in this is that teens shouldn't try to fit into the "teenager mold" that is made for them!

I think everyone should be themselves. I think I can be mature but then I love a good gossip and to talk about boys. I have my own style, I definitely don't follow the trend, unless you call Coldplay Tshirts, converse with skinny jeans the trend? It's definitely not the trend here but I like how I dress.

I think some people are mature for their age and some immature but you can't please everyone (clearly guys;) ).

Just be yourself guys. Be mature, be immature, be YOU!

And.............Be Coldplayers! :awesome:

Nonono, I think her message was misunderstood a little bit.

I read your argument and I agree with it a lot. But she's saying people who enjoy going on about how smart and special they are show a very childish and self-entitled personality. It wasn't aimed at anyone in particular (at least from how I read it).

See, I agree with that. I think modesty and a diplomatic voice when you're talking can easily set apart people who act like a child and people who act like an adult. There's nothing wrong with mentioning that you're bright or that YOU'RE MUCH MORE CLEVER THAN THE AVERAGE TEENAGER !!! (although that one might be pushing it)

But when you're annoying people constantly, constantly about your strengths "I'm THIRTEEN AND I'M TAKING COLLEGE CLASSES!!! COLLEGE IS SO HARD BTW I'M IN JUNIOR HIGH!!!! ONLY THIRTEEN" and weaknesses "I THINK I'M UGLY!!! SO UGLY!!! DO I LOOK UGLY???? RATE ME ON A SCALE 1-10!!!!! OH YOU'RE LYING I'M REALLY UGLYYY", there's a real problem.

And it doesn't matter if you're twelve years old, and you're taking Calculus III, you're still only textbook smart, you may be very stupid in the sense that you don't understand people and how you come off in the real world. That's why you see, the smartest people around us are often miserable shut-ins. Why, it's beyond me, it's not that hard to stop treating yourself like a god and show a little respect to the wonderful people out there, and yes I know from experience.

Anyway, what was my point? Dunno, just wanted to talk about that.

That is very much indeed 'the trend'! But I dress just like that too, most of the time. I don't really see a problem with 'dressing like everyone else', btw.

Yeah, I've just been frusterated and that I know what she meant, but that post just gave me an excuse to say what I was feeling.

EDIT: You changed your username to 'Coldplay'?

EDIT: You chugged your username to 'Coldplay'?

Me too.

Yeah! Haha, I asked for it as a joke and apparently it's my username now :uhoh:

I keep forgetting that it's my username though so it takes me like 10 minutes to log in :disappointed:

Haha! I'm gonna start calling you Coldplay now. :laugh4:

(and the stupid auto-correct on my iPod made it say "You chugged your username to "Coldplay"", which sounds kind strange...

It's not the trend where I live  it is among the coldplaying community though, but we are the cool guys :laugh3:

And if I say anything about loving Coldplay or anything, you can just assume I'm talking about you. :P

So a T-shirt, skinny jeans, and converse is not a trend where you live, Molly? :\

No, here the trend(for girls) are wearing chino trousers, blouses and toms or vans for shoes

Toms...everyone wears toms...except for me. It's not that I don't like them, it's just that I want to be unique. I've just never really been that into them.

One thing that I saw a lot in Europe that I didn't see in America, was wearing tights or leggings underneath shorts. I also saw that a lot in Mongolia. That style really puzzles me still. I don't understand it.

tee-shirts and jeans for me!

how is everyone?

i'm good, too. :D

how has your day been?

I don't quite like Vans

But I cannot wrap my finger around why people wear Toms

They are so ugly IMO, it's like a piece of cloth you wrap around your feet

EDIT: Someone beat me to it ha

Pretty good. I've had a headache all day, and we're in the process of moving into a house, so it was kind of hectic.

Yeah. Some girls can pull them off, but they should NEVER be worn by boys. (in my opinion)

Uh

Buy whatever you think is pretty, regardless of its popularity. If you only buy things because they don't sell as much, you're just as bad as the so-called "people who dress like everyone else".

I'm alright, having a nice morning. And you? :nice:

Boys here wear them A LOT :inquisitive:

I saw a pair of these on someone at a grocery store the other day, except they had a galaxy painted on them and they had a platform like 6 inches high.

I shouldn't be one to judge what people wear, but oh my god
