Coldplay is my "Chicken Soup for the Soul"

Featured Replies

Hey Coldplayers ~ So, I was told a few days ago that my consistent joint pain and muscle weakness is due to lupus, and since that appointment my pain has gotten worse, but tonight I noticed something different - - Like any other night, I opened iTunes, clicked on Coldplay and started dinner. While I was waiting for my water to boil, 'Shiver' came on, I started singing in the kitchen with my 4 year old (My husband wasn't home yet ;)) and noticed that for just a moment, my pain had decreased.. It may have been in my head, but I went with it anyway. For that moment, I wasn't so focused on my illness.

I used to love Coldplay's music because it made my heart and soul feel free, alive and enchanted, but now I can safely say that their music comforts me and decreases my pain in a way that no drug can.. Thanks Coldplay

that's really nice. i think it's like the music took your mind away from the pain...perhaps you should listen to more coldplay :D

I know it sounds very weird because I don't know you, but I'm really happy to hear that you felt right! :D

It's so great that music can do this all! I play in a few orchestra's and bands, and after reading your story, I remember why.

I hope you're ok now. :nice:

My husband and I both played instruments for years and want to instill that value in our kids. We feel that music is one thing that will never let you down, it has a way of taking you to a place of love and joy... Especially when it's Coldplay's music :D

Thank you very much for your kind words :)

^ haha! it's true! sometimes keeping your mind busy can make you forget pain

Sorry you are suffering :(. But it is so true; I have fibromyalgia and Coldplay has gotten me through many a dark day :)

I'm sorry for the lupus diagnosis. I have RA and Coldplay doesn't necessarily soothe my joints, but they soothe my soul. If I'm down I go on Youtube and watch their videos and interviews. My favorite is South Bank Show, it gets me in a better mood every time!

Good luck to you!

Thank you very much. I think anything by Coldplay (e.g. Concerts, interviews, music videos) is powerful, but my personal favorite is the Glastonbury concert.. I feel like I'm right there with the band and that always puts a smile on my face

Good Luck to you as well :)

coldplay cures lupus for five seconds

more in the evening bulletin at 6

Glad to hear that their music helps you all take your mind off the pain. I have been dealing with chronic pain as well, and their music definitely helps me.

And it is videos of coldplay like this one that keep me smiling through the tough times :)

I've been better, but I guess it's pretty normal to feel kind of icky until the doctors get the symptoms under control with the proper medication(s).

Thank you very much for asking! That's very nice of you :D
