October 24, 201213 yr The forum might be equipped with some mechanism to filter out links when the user's post count hasn't reached a certain amount and they will be regarded as spam (this is the typical situation of a person/machine registering with the sole purpose of posting links to promote their products). Once you've reached the amount according to which it may be safe to say you don't have such intentions, you'll be able to post (adequate) links. At least, that's how I presume it works.
