With the upcoming Coldplay shows at RAH, i've seen this stuff get waaaaay out of hand... Viagogo and Seatwave selling tickets that are PERSONAL and require THE BUYERS ID to get in for outrages amounts of money!! idk if there's a way to stop it, but I have sent the links to Gigs&tours in hope they'll some how be able to cancel those orders...

I got tickets for the right price, from the right page, but knowing ALOT of die-hard fans missed out, while these scums got them, and it really bothers me...

Anyone have any ideas on what you can do? I know there are alot of simular companies around the world, but maybe we can make it happen for this gig to get 2 Coldplay show full with REAL Coldplay fans

Maybe for future shows spam Coldplay with mails demanding they have ALL tickets personal, selling all of them from coldplay.com?

someone posted this in another thread (talking alot about Coldplay gigs)

Unfortunately the government aren't interested (apart from sporting events)and there seems to be backhanders going on.As from the link to the Youtube video, viagogo had folders of credit cards for their own bookings. The documentary is a real eye opener.

I just went on seatwave to see coldplay at the royal albert hall tickets.

they were £1500-£1800. Its disgusting.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if no-one bought them. Pity is, though, some people probably will..... and they will allow this practice to continue. If NOBODY bought them, the scammers would have to stop.

Even if nobody buys them there is still an empty seat that could and should have gone to a coldplayer

A lot of people have tried for years to fix these issues and the simple fact is, you can't. As long as there are people out there willing to pay huge money for tickets, someone's going to find a way to sell them and get the money.

Personally, I don't find linking tickets to ID to be a good solution because it greatly limits what legitimate buyers can do with the tickets they paid for. (ie. difficult to buy them for someone else, difficult to transfer if you can't go.)

It is what it is.

Because people want them and they have the money. As frustrating as it is, not everyone has a problem with ticket reselling. Many people actually see it as a "no fuss" way to buy a premium seat.

Ask the oracle and tweet @Coldplay about this, Twitter is not only to ask them "Can you follow me Coldplay" but also to ask them anything related to them so we can have their point of view. I want to read their point of view on this matter even though Coldplay is not 100% the promotoers and they don't choose their promoters but surely they have some decition there or they can at least tell us somethinga bout it.

You can try, but I honestly wouldn't expect a response. Debs has always dodged questions related to things like this in the past. (and rightly so really, there's enough legal issues involved that the band can't be making statements on the matter without tangling themselves up in a lot of issues.)

At best you'll get some boilerplate response about how they want to get tickets into the hands of fans.
