Coldplay in Nashville

They've reduced their touring schedule while maximizing the sales per show by doing mostly stadiums. Fewer shows, less wear and tear and more money.

They're not that young anymore and have families and kids, I suppose. Unfortunately Nashville didn't make the cut :/

They went to Louisville, that's not too far, right?

I had to travel 2 hours for the closest Coldplay concert in Massachusetts. They used to come to venues much closer to me.

Does anyone know why Coldplay won’t come back to Nashville? If I’m not mistaken, their Nashville show in 2009 was sold out.

I wondered the same about why they haven't come back to Des Moines, IA to Wells Fargo Arena. They came in 2009, sold out, and have not been back since. But what @A Guy Full of Stars said makes complete sense. The Louisville show would have been less than a 3 hr drive from Nashville, so they were kind of in the area. Same probably went for why they didn't come to Des Moines for the AHFOD tour--they played in US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis which is about 3.5 hrs north of Des Moines, and played 2 days later in Omaha, NE which is a little over 2 hours west of Des Moines. The show in Omaha was not a stadium, and Wells Fargo in Des Moines is also not a stadium, so it would only make sense for them to do one of the two, really.......although I would love for the to come back to Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines since I live only 30 miles north of Des Moines!

For the Mylo Xyloto tour (which would have been the next major tour after the VLV), the closest they came to the Des Moines area was Chicago (5.5 hrs away) and St. Paul, MN (3.5 hrs away).

I'm sure there are several logistical reasons on why they haven't been back to Nashville or Des Moines...maybe some day? In the meantime, the car rides to Minneapolis and Omaha last August were totally and completely worth it

You’re right, as a band they’re older and have families. I guess I have to travel to Louisville.
