No, real metal is non-commercial/non-trendy music like Satyricon, Darkthrone, Corrosion of Conformity, Down, and Rotting Christ.

Well, my friends and I define it as this.

I'm in love with Sigurd of Satyricon. :)

personally i think thats really narrow-minded. metalheads are supposedly so rebellious and open to different stuff but then when it comes to metal itsef, it has to be all stiff and rigid. it doesn't matter whether its popular or not metal doesn't have to stay underground. i dont like the bands i like because they're popular and they aren't trendy. i like Metallica because they're amazing musicians. being a bassist i really appreciate Cliff Burton and his basslines, and that's one of my main reasons for listening to them. and Disturbed i cant even describe. i listen to them because listening to them makes me feel a certain way and its the best feeling in the world that very few things can give me. and of course because they're great musicians. i mean think what you want, thats just my opinion. :D hmmmm cant say i've heard of the guy you're in love with :P me i love Cliff Burton and i'm sad he died  David Draiman and Fuzz are hottt......so is Mick Morris :D

yeah. true. in that case' date=' those bands or any others that are related to them...i don't listen to. i have my music i listen to. if i listened to those bands, i wouldn't be here :P and i wouldn't have time to listen to everything :stunned:[/quote']

me either.....or the $$$$ :P

I don't like those bands only cause they're non-trendy either. I'm also not a rebel personally... well, maybe so, but not by choice. I just love the music I listen to.

It's kinda hard to explain... I think the commercial bands have sold out to the media by making this mass-produced music, so it isn't "real".

It may be metal, but it's not true.

Only my opinion, but I am very narrow-minded in my musical taste. Even if I do love some non-metal bands (namingly David Gray). Too much DMB board stuff and black metal does that to ya. :p

I don't think the guys you listed are hot. Just my opinion too; I have odd standards of beauty. I love death metal and black metal guys.

well its fine you dont like them i have no problem with people having their own taste. but saying they aren't metal crosses a line. they aren't black or death metal, but that doesn't mean they aren't metal. and about the "mass-produced" thing, i think i'll quote Cliff on this one--"we just do what we wanna do, if people call that selling out......whatever." :D

:) Awesome. You're very open-minded.

What I mean about the metal comment was that they are metal, but not true, kvlt metal... it's a weird saying.

I was kinda testing you to see if you'd bash me for my comments, but you didn't. Yay! You're very accepting, which is cool.

thanx :D lol....yes well i guess that comes from the fact that i hate it when people hate other people just because they're different....i figure if its not hurting anyone, get over it, not everyone agrees with you lol :P :D

No' date=' real metal is non-commercial/non-trendy music like Down[/quote']

Yes... SYSTEM OF A DOWN
