The band have also released a new lyric video for album centerpiece Let Somebody Go, featuring handwritten lyrics by Chris and guest singer, Selena Gomez. Music Of The Spheres features the single Higher Power, which received its first play on the International Space Station by French astronaut Thomas Pesquet and quickly became a worldwide hit. Last week, Coldplay became the first British band to debut at number one on the US Hot 100 with their BTS collaboration My Universe. The song has already racked up more than 100 million views on YouTube. The album release comes a day after the band announced a massive global stadium tour for 2022. The full list of shows for the Music Of The Spheres World Tour is available now at coldplay.com/tour. The tour announcement was accompanied by a comprehensive set of sustainability initiatives and environmental commitments, including halving CO2 emissions and planting a tree for every ticket sold. The full list can be viewed at coldplay.com/sustainability. The band will appear for a week-long music residency on CBS’s THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN from Monday, October 18th to Thursday, October 21st to celebrate the release of Music Of The Spheres. The residency will include the television debut of Let Somebody Go with Selena Gomez as well as a special performance of ❤️ (pronounced Human Heart) with We Are KING and Jacob Collier.
3. I had no problem with the atmosphere. There are many complaints that the audience was dead but that had no impact on my enjoyment, I just did not notice it. I don't think you can compare it to a stadium gig or something that many super fans would have attended. I was standing next to fans that had travelled from another country, two other fan page owners and a father and his very young son. All of us were not exactly dancing crazily but we were definitely excited. Everyone around me seemed to be filled with joy and you could definitely feel that in the room. I'm assuming there were a lot of record label employees in attendance who may have been given tickets as a sort of Christmas gift within their office. Of course, they are not going to know/like every song but they had every right to be there. It annoys me that some fans feel entitled that just because they would have been dancing and singing to every song means that they should have been there in the place of another person. Frankly, a lot of the songs on Everyday Life aren't exactly songs that you would be jumping up and down to. Even songs from older albums like Lovers in Japan and A Sky Full of Stars were stripped back. There were a lot of friends and family at this gig and after speaking to someone very high up at Coldplay (who I have not mentioned previously), they went to the bathroom during one of the songs because they do not think it's great. I think we have to understand that not everyone is going to be in love with every song. I did not see people leaving because my full focus was on the band. However, I don't think we should bash people for leaving either. They had every right to be at that show and may have had to leave for many reasons. The show started and ended VERY late so getting home may have been an issue for some. The band seemed to be very happy. Chris was making faces at the crowd and was being his usual goofy self. I have seen them during the AHFOD tour and this was far from what I experienced back in 2017. Chris was very chatty, interacting with the crowd and his band members. I was right in front of Will and Guy and they also seemed to be in a great mood. I have this lovely video of Guy with a massive smile on his face and another with Will doing something similar! Chris' voice was a bit hoarse as you may have heard in the audio clips posted earlier but I never noticed this until I listened back. It didn't have an immediate impact on my enjoyment or overall experience. Overall, the band interacted extremely well with each other and Femi Kuti's ensemble. The tracks from Everyday Life translated very well to a live setting. I cannot see most of these songs being played in the future but they were amazing. Everyday Life had me with my head in my hands at the end, that song gets me every time. Daddy is a track that I usually skipped over but it had me in a trance as Chris exerted raw emotion through his vocals and the piano. Sparks was out of this world, they played it just like on the album! I cannot fault any of the tracks in any way, each one succeeded in triggering a different emotional response from me and they had me hooked by the end of the show! If I had to pick a favourite and least favourite I would have to choose Everyday Life as my favourite, Arabesque, Trouble in Town and Champion of the World are close seconds! I'm not sure I can even pick a least favourite lol. Maybe Lovers in Japan or BrokEn. (I still loved them though) There were two bars in the hotel, one was strictly for the band and their families. I can only imagine that they were extremely tired after travelling from Jordan to London and performing all these shows. Norah said she was so tired after it all and she said that the band did so much rehearsing prior to the shows. Also, Chris has been sick as of recently and you could hear that in his voice. I don't think mingling with a bar full of people would have been good for his vocal cords! I was not upset at all. I would not change anything about that night, I met so many wonderful people and had such interesting conversations. Maybe if the band were present that would not have happened. It would have felt weird having them there to be completely honest. I'm not sure how to explain that lol. Chris said multiple times that this was the last show. Ian had an idea that the 7 shows included guest appearances on shows such as SNL. I still think that is true and that the LA shows have been added last minute. Thanks for the questions and feel free to ask me anything else. I will try to answer if I get time!
4. Chris announced a few LA shows today but before this we just assumed the Maira Vale gig, SNL and shows like that counted. From speaking to people there it sounded like they were finished. This may be a last minute decision to add more shows but I have no idea!
5. There wasn’t many people at the aftershow, I think it was mainly friends and family!
6. Hey everyone, I thought I would come on here and talk about my experience and explain a few things! I was lucky enough to receive an invite from Coldplay as a thank you for the support we have given them during the past few months. Promotion for this album from fan sites and fans, in general, was key during this era as it was of course, marketed differently to other albums. We arrived at the Museum with an hour or so until the doors opened. There were two entrances, the left one being for general admission ticket holders and the right being for VIP or guest list. There were many people waiting outside the guestlist gate, however, security made us form a queue and would not let non-guestlist people join. In the end, there were about 20 people in the guestlist queue and another 20 waiting at the gate, perhaps looking to sneak their way in. The door opening was slightly delayed as they were not ready but a nice lady came out to check that we were actually on the list. A man that had been waiting for an hour was turned away as he was not on the list! Many people tried to push their way in along with guestlist ticket holders and were generally disrespectful as they clearly didn't have tickets but were trying to cheat the system. We were second in the queue and were promptly let into the venue where we were searched by security, given a love button and our tickets. Greg James was behind us in the queue by the way! As usual, guestlist tickets are in envelopes and at the desk, there didn't seem to be too many envelopes. This leads me to believe that the 500 guestlist tickets rumour is false. There was nowhere near 500 envelopes there. Also, this was a charity event. In the email sent out to all guestlist ticket holders, they insisted that each person donated £25 or more to ClientEarth. Cash or credit card was accepted. Even though we did not pay for our tickets, we donated as much as we could. There was also a merchandise stand with a limited edition t-shirt and poster. Overall I think I spent £80 on merchandise, all of which went to ClientEarth. I recognised a few important faces, let's say they are high up in the food chain, so I can assure you they donated a lot of money! Hopefully, that dispels the claim that most people did not pay for their tickets, therefore, defeating the purpose of a charity event. I am not sure why there is so much controversy around this event. Think of it as a private charity event where many record label executives, friends, family and various wealthy folk were invited. We were very lucky that the public was invited at all! The venue was minuscule and could barely fit everyone in. I can genuinely not think of a better way they could have sold the tickets. Giving them to randomers has people arguing that 'real fans' missed out on this opportunity. Only letting superfans in would cause people to argue that they have seen the band enough and to let others have a go. It's a very difficult decision to make and logistically very difficult. In conclusion, if you didn't get tickets, you just weren't lucky, there is zero point in complaining. Anyway, inside our envelope was two tickets, two wristbands and a piece of paper. We made our way past security and were lucky enough to get to the barrier! Standing that close to the stage was surreal and it took me a few minutes to realise that we had made it! Ian from ColdplayXtra was also present along with his girlfriend. All three of us were so excited to be at the barrier. Phil and his wife were also there along with their son. We pretty much bumped into each other leaving the gig but I didn't want to interrupt him out of respect. Coming back to the envelope: There was a small piece of paper inviting us to the aftershow party at a bar in London (address obfuscated). We headed back to the hotel to drop off our merchandise and got a taxi to the hotel bar. It was at an extremely prestigious hotel in London! Security asked to see our wristbands and we were let in. We met with Ian and his girlfriend and got ourselves a table for the night. Food and drink were totally free (except a gin and tonic that I spent 22 euro on...). Shrimp, truffles and spring rolls were among the food given out. I tried to network with as many people as possible. I met Mat Whitecross who I had previously spoken to over the phone for a few hours. He was delightful and took the time to speak to me again! Norah Shaqur was sitting across from us and spoke to us for a while. After telling her how much I loved her performance and her dress, she spoke to us for a while about recording the album, travelling and tour details (spoiler, that was the final show). She was extremely kind, thankful, friendly and an overall joyous person. We spotted Jacob Collier who was wearing a brightly coloured outfit, you could not miss him! Ian introduced both of us and he was also extremely kind and funny (notice a trend here!). Femi Kuti's fellow musicians were also present along with comedian Al Murray, Coldplay staff and more. There was a separate, smaller bar for Coldplay. The band was present along with their families. This was strictly family only as even their security guards were not allowed in! Speaking of, Chris' security guards were in great form and wished me a great night as we left the building. I spotted Debs Wild walk in and after our many interactions over the years I knew I had to say hi! After telling her who I was she gave me a big hug and introduced me to her friend and spoke highly of me and Ian. We spent the next hour discussing mutual friends, Coldplay and a bunch of other stuff. She looked after all of us and was by far the nicest person I have met in a long time! Kudos to Debs for all the support she has given us over the years. And that concludes my trip to London to see Coldplay. I have had many opportunities to do this before but cancelled due to exams. I could not turn this down though! Let me know if you guys have any questions -Stephen
7. I will be there hopefully live-streaming some of it on coldplaying!
8. You must send them on to me and I will try my best!
9. Should be ok now. Sorry about this issue, I can't for the life of me figure out what the issue is!
10. Just a heads up, links are being automatically removed from private messages. Coldplay has a takedown team on it and we are only helping out! As always, please refrain from sharing leaks, even to other Coldplayers. These things spread like wildfire and ultimately hurt sales. If you do want to discuss it, however, please post in the Leak Discussion thread. Thank you :)
11. To prevent spoilers, please post here: https://coldplaying.com/forum/index.php?threads/everyday-life-leak-discussion-spoilers-inside.125886/
12. For those who are 'lucky' enough to have heard the new album, please discuss in here and not in the main thread to prevent spoilers. As always NO LEAKS Thank you!
13. Great to see your opinions guys! I hope you don't mind if I quote some fan opinions in the article scheduled for 7:30 pm
14. *Don't tell Coldplay lol* Arabesque is such an interesting track. I think it will get a lot of backlash but it shows they aren't afraid to experiment which is so admirable
15. The site will most likely crash anyway lol, I will take all this into consideration. Thank you as always!
16. Spoiler tag please and thank you
17. Of course, just no links! Perhaps use a spoiler tag to avoid ruining it for others
18. Realistically, you haven't heard the album yet... don't judge an album by its cover!
19. No arguments going on here! I just want you to understand that as moderators of the site, we have to ensure that the album does not get leaked on our site. As we have done in past eras, we report all leaks to Coldplay's takedown team and private messages are often turned off during this period.
20. This is what I was talking about, and y'all didn't believe me! View: https://twitter.com/coldplaying/status/1187356864520032256
21. THREAD CLOSED: Due to instruction from the band, we will have a zero-tolerance to leaks this era. Sorry folks!
22. Was hoping nobody would spot that :P
23. I'm living for this!
