Hello Everyone! I have been a huge Coldplay fan for many years. I have loved every album from Parachutes to A head full of dreams. I was very disappointed and upset that on Everyday Life they included swearing in their lyrics for the first time. ( I am also disappointed with Music of the Spheres for having swearing in the lyrics too!) Trouble in Town, Arabesque and Guns particularly upsets me. Does anyone else find it disappointing that Coldplay have started to use swearing in their songs? It has been a while since I properly listened to Everyday Life, so I thought it would be fun to put my thoughts on each song down as I listen to it. Sunrise: This song is not unlike The Wider Sun by Jon Hopkins. Both are instrumental string intros to albums. But while The Wider Sun is somewhat dramatic, Sunrise is a bit sadder. Both work well but the similarities make me feel like you could have swapped the two songs around and Everyday Life and Insides would sound pretty much identical on the whole. Starting this topic because I didnt see anything about the album itself, besides when it first released. Most people on the forum talk about EL as the best of Coldplay's more recent records but still lesser than the first four and I disagree. In terms of experimentation, you have the gorgeous classical piece Sunrise, the Floydian political protest Trouble in Town, the tour-de-force of horns on Arabesque and whatever When I Need a Friend is. Hey all! ❤️ I just listened to Church for the first time, and holy cow it's amazing! I also noticed that some samples were also used on Everyday Life, and what really struck me is that both songs are VERY similar. As in: I didn't have to change any tempo or pitch, just put some stuff from Everyday Life on top of Church, and you'll hear it will fit perfectly. Hi guys... Well, a user from Reddit recorded a different version of Everyday Life that some radios on The Netherlands are broadcasting this days. Note that: * It has the studio vocals from the regular version * Different intro with Jonny and Chris at the piano instead of the orchestra (I LOVE IT) * Different outro, shorter and with little orchestra, but more emotional. * Everything else stays the same. At first I thouht it was some of the live versions recorded at the BBC or another studio, but it is in fact an edited version of the track, and I love it! What do you think?
