  1. I would love to hear more piano. I read that some producers (Viva I think) tried to have them use the piano less but let's face it, that is the iconic Coldplay sound. I first became a big fan when I heard the beautiful notes of "The Scientist" and "Clocks". Having said that, I just watched Chris playing "Losing My Religion" on the guitar at the Sandy Relief Concert. It was something ... I didn't know he was such a good guitar player. What an amazing singer, songwriter and musician -- a rare talent who can do it all. So I say piano 8.4 :)
  2. I have to admit that I prefer "0ldplay" too although I thought "Charlie Brown" and a few of the newer songs were great too. Thanks for the nice greeting ... have a good weekend : )
  3. Thanks JC ... Canadians certainly love CP : )
  4. Thanks ... it's good to be here and see so many interesting topics.
  5. As with all Coldplay albums, I will eagerly wait to hear it. My least favourite albums were "GS" and "MX" so I hope they go back to "Viva" or "Rush". I still feel a stir when I hear "In My Place", "Violet Hill", "42" or "Life in Technicolor !!".
  6. Wow ... I'm really surprised that "In My Place" faired so poorly -- not even into double digits! I still hear those riffs and remember why I fell in love with Coldplay. And despite the fact many guys love to dismiss the band, they always dance to that tune at parties : )
  7. I really love the title song ... it was intense and melodic and mysterious and lovely. I think it's underrated, I rarely see people talk about it. A good indicator of songs is how you view them many years later. Songs that can be bypassed aren't great -- for example I never listen to "Ghost Stories" but can listen to several tracks from ROBTTH, X&Y and Viva year in and out. Chris Martin said on Canadian TV that he considered "Politik" one of their top 3 songs. It's one my least favourites so that was interesting. Not that even the "least" is bad -- I can listen to all the songs endlessly. I do love the ending of Politik though and wish there was more of that part within the general song. My top 5: 1) In My Place 2) Rush of Blood to the Head 3) The Scientist 4) Green Eyes 5) Clocks
