  1. EDDIE REDMAYNE! :D :D :D The movie is The Danish Girl. I'm looking forward to it too. He makes a prettier and more graceful girl than I am LOL. The reviews I've read so far aren't promising but I'm sure his acting is A++!
  2. My answer to BOTH questions is Prospekt's March EP track #8's Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground :laugh3:
  3. AROBTTH vs. Maybe Someday (The Cure) If it were a different Radiohead song my answer might have been different.
  4. My heart has a very special place for this golden doodle:
  5. Aww, I didn't know that. It's a good song indeed but as much as I love the lyrics and live versions, it isn't a good Coldplay song. I have to admit that Poker Face was a very big guilty pleasure of mine when it first came out hahahaha
  6. Well, you're right. It is. I'm not really into electronic music hahaha. Daylight vs. Garands (Young The Giant)
  7. If we can get Apple and Moses to stop listening to them, we may have a chance.
  8. You just had to put the song against the original huh... Talk vs. Special (Mew)
  9. I love the lyrics to Paradise but c'mon, you know it will be eliminated sooner or later :laugh3:
  10. I have the urge to lock Chris up and drown him in some good old rock music :laugh3:
  11. I ACTUALLY LAUGHED OUT LOUD AHAHAHAHA Oh god, am I one of the few who actually likes Charlie Brown.... I vote for Paradise!!! Another 2-4 rounds and it will be very hard for me to choose which to eliminate
  12. What genres of movies do you enjoy? I tend to enjoy biopics and mystery. I can't watch horror at all... Thanks to peer pressure (I'm a weak sucker), I've seen Conjuring, Annabelle and Paranormal Activity (only the first one) and all 3 times I was the only one screaming in the cinema! Those aren't even the scariest movies. I've never seen the classics like Shutter, Juno, etc. Mr Holmes was amazing. Ian McKellen was breathtaking as usual. I get very emotionally involved in movies so I ended up crying a little towards the end and my friends teased me for it :( I saw Maze Runner (1 & 2) and felt very underwhelmed... my friends love the series while I find it very boring. Kaya is so pretty though. My girl crush <3 It's funny how I can't bear to watch horror films but I'm very excited about Guillermo del Toro's upcoming Crimson Peak. Even Stephen King found it scary... but I really loved Pan's Labyrinth and I like Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain so I am SOOOO going to watch the movie when it opens this month.
  13. I think it was hilarious when Howard closed the curtains on Sheldon lol. /mean How did you find ep 2? I'm very curious about what Sheldon will do to get Amy back. Shamy are the endgame. There's no other way!
  14. My favourite part will always be how everyone gets reflective and thoughtful about touring the US and Guy's like, "I'm gonna buy a jukebox!!"
  15. Somebody voted to eliminate White Shadows in the latest round of the Singles elimination game and I felt offended because it's one of my all-time favourite CP songs lol. Who cares if it was more a special release than a single I'm going to naively believe that they haven't really sold out :cry2: Obviously their musical influences changed drastically, especially with Chris who happens to be the centre of their music writing. And Jon Hopkins mentioned in an interview somewhere along the lines of the guys being very open to different genres of music and experimental, which probably led to something like Midnight. They're also in a very different place in life now; they're well-adjusted guys who are almost 40 with beautiful families, they're long over the age of insecurity, angst and rebellion. Just can't help but to wish they stuck to their roots more like with Major Minus, Ghost Story, etc. I'm sure it's possible for them to be experimental and keep to the alt rock roots at the same time.
  16. Hello grinds and Andu :) I think Mila said in an interview that AHFOD is going to be very different from GS. There's no confirmation whether Amazing Day will be in AHFOD so there's still hope lol I like Mr. Children! I haven't listened to a lot of their songs but I'm fond of them so far. My friend introduced me to L'Arc~en~Ciel recently. They're quite a big band, apparently. Their new drummer is meh but the bassist is pretty sick. I haven't checked out other bands from Taiwan but I practically grew up on Mayday. Highly recommended! They're the first rock band I listened to (going from Mayday to I'VE BECOME SO NUMB I CAN'T FEEL YOU THERE was a very huge jump but well, good times LOL) and their songs have gotten me through some difficult times (I speak Mandarin so I know what they're singing) so they have a special place in my heart. They're the no. 1 rock band among the Chinese community. They're known to have great concerts too but I couldn't afford them :( Their Spotify link: https://open.spotify.com/artist/16s0YTFcyjP4kgFwt7ktrY Everything is in Chinese though  Taiwan makes very beautiful music videos. You should check them out if you have time. Playlist of all their official music videos: I think some or most of them translated the lyrics into English in the captions. Excuse the shameless promo of Mayday lol. Some of the Korean bands I found so far steer a little towards folk... rock is apparently not that well-received in Korea. It's very hard for them to get on charts :( Popular indie bands include 10cm (Americano is a fun song lol. Basically singing about how much they like drinking Americano and what it goes well with :laugh3:), Standing Egg, Afrodino, Dalmoon and Urban Zakapa. A bit more mainstream would be Royal Pirates (they're kinda pop-ish but have nice songs. Seoul Hillbilly's my fav. They're a Korean-American trio based in Korea so they have English versions of some songs too! They also have a handsome bassist **cough**), Busker Busker (they managed to top some charts and even won Album of the Year at one award show, which I heard is a big deal because the Korean music industry is greatly dominated by pop). There's a band called CNBLUE that has been very pop-orientated but they started as an indie band in Japan a year, singing in English (that made not much sense lol the English is kinda funny) before going to Korea. Their indie releases are better than what they released in Korea, which is quite a pity. Hello! Omg! I had personal commitments so I couldn't attend their concert :( I'm still very upset about that lol. I hope you had great fun!
  17. Someone shared this in the Random Coldplay Thoughts thread. The glory that is White Shadows live and the Bucktin bromance toward the end. [video=youtube;mUAKXzkpv_c]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUAKXzkpv_c
  18. Hm. Post-LP4 songs I like... Charlie Brown Major Minus Up in Flames Atlas Always In My Head Magic - this is actually my fav song on GS. I love its simplicity. Another's Arms Ghost Story - I wish they released this as one of the lead singles. Then maybe people will shut up about how Coldplay sold out, is bland or not as good as they used to be. THEY'RE WONDERFUL THEY JUST SOMEHOW DON'T WANT TO BE :bigcry: Songs like Paradise and ASFOS are fun to bop to sometimes but meh. Looking at it optimistically I'm glad they worked with Avicii for ASFOS instead of people like Calvin Harris, Diplo, Hardwell, Guetta, etc. I absolutely cannot stand EDM except at clubs (I club like once to twice a year lol) but if I had to pick, I would pick Avicii because I find the rest even more annoying. I just cannot wait for the EDM trend to just. Fucking. Die. Already. I feel it's everywhere because my friends adore EDM and listen to it all the time, urgh. I'm not that much into ambient music so I don't like Midnight and O that much. When I first heard Midnight I was like "Wtf?" However, I have a playlist on Soundcloud that I play when I go to bed; if we take away Chris' voice, those tracks are what I would add to that playlist. They sound wonderful to fall asleep to but just not what I enjoy listening to in the day. Sometimes, when I listen to Oceans, I feel like Chris will start to go "Shiverrrrrrrrrr~~~~" somewhere in the middle of the song lol. I think it's the falsetto. Random thought haha
  19. Thank you :D The power of music never fails to amaze me. I'm glad things have gotten better for you :) There are many terrific artistes outside of North America and Britain, no matter pop, R&B, hip hop or rock. Thanks to Guy I started listening to Mew from Denmark. I also recently started discovering bands from East Asia but they don't sing in English so it's really more about the musicality...
  20. How did one live of a song we've never heard before stir things up this much? Music is subjective; everyone has different opinions of the same piece of music. We don't even know whether the song will be included in AHFOD or it's something they wrote for GCF. Just chill :/
  21. He's like the incarnation of a mix between a Golden Retriever and a St. Bernard. Actually, that sounds like a great dog. I would be more than happy to have that dog as part of the family.
  22. YES. Square One and White Shadows are my jam. WS especially. If they really insist on sounding more pop then I'm good with something like Charlie Brown. But gdi I need something like Politik again. OPEN UP YOUR EEEEYYYYYyyyYYYYYyYyYyYyYyyYYYEEEES Google Books has a preview of the book :P Many pages are missing but it's still good to read. https://books.google.com.sg/books?id=9lDACAAAQBAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=Roadie:+My+Life+On+The+Road+With+Coldplay+preview&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CB4QuwUwAGoVChMIpM7NsuiXyAIVi1SOCh33UQFP#v=onepage&q=Roadie%3A%20My%20Life%20On%20The%20Road%20With%20Coldplay%20preview&f=false LOL KERMIT. I think the deterioration is noticeable, actually. He seems to be struggling more with high notes recently. It's a bit painful to hear. I think it's from aging and the wear and tear of vocal chords many singers face. In this case, I'm appreciate further the fact that Chris doesn't smoke because it can do shit to people's voices. I really love that album of U2's :loveshower: I read an article sometime back about Lillywhite when he was in Singapore to work with some of our local bands for a programme. He never says no to the artiste's ideas and doesn't change the band's sound much. I don't know how that would work with the band's current direction. I can picture Oldplay x Lillywhite though.
  23. LOL. Me too, maybe. I want more bass-heavy songs... X&Y's basslines were so awesome. :bigcry:
