Omg my day just got about a million times better! AHHHHH I can't even :bliss: My grandma just heard me listening to Yellow and said 'Oh! This song again!'. I was surprised she seemed to recognize it because she doesn't really listen to English music. When I asked her what she meant she told me that it was the first song she ever heard me sing along to when it played on the radio. Apparently 3 year old me found it hard to make out the words but still liked to mumble nonsense to the tune of the song lol :D I had no idea about this till now and it made me so happy! A love that was always meant to be :heart:

It's so lovely to see how wide a demographic Coldplay fans belong to :nice: Just goes to show that talent that brilliant is universally appreciated :D I'm 19 and only recently became a proper Coldplayer. I'd been a casual fan for quite a while before that. I don't think there was a single Coldplay song I heard on the radio and didn't immediately like :lol: But after watching their Glastonbury 2016 set I was completely blown away by the positivity and love and empathy they showed and I instantly fell in love with them :wacky: I'm now on a never ending mission to convert every last person I know into a Coldplayer lol :D

This resonates with me so much. Especially right now. I was having a rather bad day. It can be so much harder to forgive yourself than to forgive anyone else sometimes. Guilt is such an overwhelming feeling. Nothing was working. But then I put on my headphones and shut my eyes. I can't really pinpoint which particular song did it but just listening to Coldplay made me feel better. It was like a friend telling me it's okay and that I'm human and allowed to make mistakes. There's no point in beating myself up about it. We grow from our mistakes :)

I had to give it like three listens before forming an opinion because I'm much too used to the original :P And I think I kinda like it :lol: Some bits are really nice but I feel like overall this version doesn't really have a nice flow :3 I don't know if you've heard this one? This is probably the only cover of Yellow I've ever liked. Mostly because she doesn't deviate too much from the original :lol: and I think her voice is lovely :wacky:

So much yes to this D; I'm usually very tolerant of covers and sometimes like them even more than the original when they're covers of other artists I like. But I almost never warm up to Coldplay covers. Even when the singer hits every note perfectly, it still sounds too polished and robotic. I don't really feel anything like I do when I listen to the original. Even though there's quite a few singers who are a lot more technically proficient than Chris, no one can really bring as much emotion as he can to their songs imo :wacko:

I'm starting to get better at it I think :D I manged to make a couple that look somewhat decent :lol: Ohhh I like this idea :D Up and up would be perfect for this. Maybe we could write it like this?

I love these ideas a lot! Especially the one involving translating the lyrics so we can reach everyone :nice: I agree that "#AStarFullOfLove" sounds like the perfect hashtag :D It's brilliant :dazzled: It's suits Coldplay perfectly :D The stars in the background and the bright 'Yellow', and all the colors just come together so beautifully -flail- :bliss: Since we're hoping to make someone's day brighter and that someone might not necessarily know Coldplay, I'm voting for the lyrics based on how much sense they make out of context of the song and just on their own and how likely they are to make a person's mood better and not taking into account which lyric I personally relate to or like more (I'm looking at you 'Birds' :P) I like 2, 4, 6, 16, 17, 18, 19 the most I think 5 is great as well, maybe we can change the 'you get lighter the more it gets dark' to 'you get brighter the more it gets dark'? 1, 21 and 26 are quite nice as well :nod: Also, making a star turned out to be a lot harder than I expected it to be D; But I refuse to give up - scampers away to look for more newspaper to practice on- :3
