Blue Eyes
wow what a coincidence... yesterday I've listen to the Soundtrack of Garden State (with "Don't Panic" on it) and there is a song called 'Blue Eyes' by Cary Brothers and for me this sounds similar to 'Sparks'. Don't know if it's mentioned before... maybe I'm just missing some sleep :P . If somebody wants to check it out I'll upload it in the Multimedia Section. Just let me know :)

- What song was chris quoting.
I think he chose it because it was the opening song of the live aid 20 years ago, so ... I think it was a great quote :)- the tape chirs has on is fingers????
Yeah, I think it has something to do with "Two fingers to poverty" (a documentary). Chris was filmed by a camera team during his visit in ghana. It will be broadcasted on MTV (but don't know when). But I think it's also artworkrelated because of the different colors (a bit fashion too, because it looks well ;))- Scientist-Hurt
Hmm dunno. I have to listen to it :). I think he just sang the verse because it's fit in the song and tries to be creative for the audience. Like he did with clocks - tatu 'all the things she said', everthing's not lost - nelly 'hot in herre' or don't panic - shania twain 'man I feel like a woman'. Maybe I'm wrong with THIS song :). Just a guess ;)- BEST COLDPLAY ALBUM
I voted for arobtth cause of it's whole style at it's time. Don't missunderstand me. I mean X&Y has pure amazing tracks and it grows on me more and more without getting enough of it. But in a few month or so I probably 'regret' my vote. At the time I get arobtth I always heard only 3 or 4 tracks of it but after a while the hole album catched me. X&Y is catching me faster than arobtth. But at this moment: arobtth. ;)- Interview with Coldplay in Amsterdam

http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17311 I've posted some exerpts from rolling stone in this forum, days ago :)- The Pogues? and Swallowed in The Sea?
Today I've bought the german version of rolling stone. Chris talks about the tracks of X&Y (I try to translate little parts of it, but my engl. isn't that good). Influences SQUARE ONE: We tried to make a song like Kraftwerk (This composition is the first official song which is done by Guy and Will and not by me - programming on an old Drum-Computer.) WHAT IF: Should sound like John Lennon. WHITE SHADOWS: We had Tears For Fears and The Cult in the Head. FIX YOU: We borrowed from Jimmy Cliff the line "There's so many rivers to cross". X & Y: We had this track very early but we thougt it's boring. One night at home I listened to old Beatles records and saw a making-of of "Dark Side Of The Moon" and then I come up with the idea to play the song in a 60's style. SPEED OF SOUND: We tried to write a Kate Bush song. I've heard "Running Up That Hill" and liked to have a song with the same atmosphere. Even the chords are similar. A MESSAGE: Even we had to deliver the album on january there was one song left, somehow. Remaining just one idea - the melody of an old church song which we sung a lot when we were children "My Song Is Love Unknown". Suddenly one night I know how it goes. I ran - without clothes - downstairs to the living room, took the guitare and the whole song came in 5 minutes. THE HARDEST PART: We wanted to write a R.E.M. song that's it. plz don't blame me - me and my engl  - Coldplay performing at the VMAS
