  1. Discovered these piano covers yesterday and wanted to share them cause they're absolutely brilliant. So soothing. Listen to them late at night with your headphones on and get lost in your thoughts and imagination. You can also find several other Coldplay covers on his channel that are equally great.
  2. I usually hit my right thumb a little harder and play it 'disconnected' from the chord itself (if that makes sense?). I made a synthesia tutorial while playing along to the BBC Radio 1 performance in Exeter, maybe that helps. I didn't record it on the MP9000 though but with the 'current' AHFOD sound. Back when I had an MP9000, I just set the voicing to bright to match the sound (if I remember correctly).
  3. I’m just not using it anymore unfortunately. Got a second one and I don’t have space for two so I have to get rid of one.
  4. SOLD - - - SOLD - - - SOLD Anyone still looking for a Kawai MP9000 - the Coldplay sound? I'm selling my beloved piano. Everything's working fine. As good as new considering its age. I think I don't have to go into detail explaining the specs of the piano. We all know that this is the sound Coldplay used on stage until 2012. The piano is located in Germany and can be picked up in the North of the country (Lower Saxony) or it can be shipped within Germany for an extra €50. Comes with the damper and power chord. Price: €550 Any questions? Feel free to send me a message or comment below this post :) Cheers, Felix
  5. Yeah, I was always looking for footage like that. Glad it exists and they included it in the film. What would I do to play on that piano once...
  6. I did! Amazing footage.
  7. Are you sure? I'd say it's the Kawai Pop Piano EX Studio Grand sound that can be found on the ATX2 and the MP11SE. I know for sure that he uses an MP8 for Everglow. I've seen a photo without the case.

  12. There's a post in the Welcome section from 2015 which announced the closure of the forum due to too little activity.

  16. Please do! The SE does indeed sound fantastic. Especially the other three acoustic grand piano sounds. It’s like sitting at a real grand.
  17. Glad you like it! I learned most parts of Everglow by ear. Additionally, I watched some videos where you could see which keys Chris is pressing (e. g. the performance on the Graham Norton chat show). I think the intro is 100% accurate but I’m still trying to figure out the piano solo part after the first chorus.
  18. So, here is a short demo of the sound: I compared it to: // What do you think?
  19. I am pretty certain that i found coldplay’s current piano sound that they’ve been using since 2016 (?). The stopped using the MP9000 sound and switched to a more acoustic, organic sound. I am aware of the fact that their current piano is a hybrid piano so they could be using the actual sound. However, a few days ago I bought a Kawai MP11SE which I think has some of the same built-in sounds their Kawai K300 has as well. By accident, I started messing around with the Pop Piano sound ‘EX Studio Grand’ and it sounds exactly like the piano when playing The Scientist (comparing to the BBC1 music festival performance) or Christmas Lights (comparing to the Spotify sessions version). Everglow also sounds pretty similar. I’ll post some sound demos tomorrow.
  20. If you want to get the same sound (used for the live performances until 2012) you need to get your hands on a Triton rack for the Fix You organ and a Kawai MP9000 stage piano for the normal piano sound :)
  21. It’s the F-2r pedalbord!
  22. - SOLD - Hey! I don't know whether this is the correct section but I'm selling my beloved Kawai MP9000 stage piano - the one that Coldplay used on stage till 2012 to sample the sound! It's in perfect condition, some normal marks of usage but works totally fine. Comes with pedal and power supply. Pick up in Germany (Leer) or Netherlands (Groningen). Cheers!
