  1. At last! Reason from the press... from Fox News of all places... :uhoh: Gwyneth's Marriage Is OK, Says Mom You pretty much can’t pick up a supermarket tabloid or read a gossip blog without getting this message: Gwyneth Paltrow’s marriage to Coldplay’s Chris Martin is over. That’s it, done, over and out, stick a fork in ‘em. There are many “reasons” given for this starting with the insistence that because no pictures have been taken of the couple together in recent months, they must be finito. It makes so much sense! Not so, however. I recently had a nice chat with Gwyneth’s mom, the splendid actress Blythe Danner. She was very surprised when I told her what was going on. “They don’t take pictures together if they can avoid it. It’s a strategy. They don’t want the pandemonium.” She might have been referring to endless publicity seeking of couples like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, the Beckhams, and Brangelina. In fact, Danner says the couple are just fine, thanks. “They’re staying in England for the new year. Then coming here.” Danner didn’t confirm this rumor, but I am told that Gwyneth will be a right by Martin’s side when Coldplay goes up for numerous Grammy awards on February 8th. Some of the reasoning I’ve read for this putative divorce is kind of ridiculous, too. The British tabs insist that newly divorced Madonna has cast a svengali like pall over Paltrow, swaying her to join the single life. Paltrow, however, is quite unlike Madonna in all ways. For one thing, Bruce Paltrow and Blythe Danner were happily married, and would have remained so if Paltrow hadn’t died of cancer a few years ago. Gwyneth’s upbringing, background and education could not be more different than that of Madonna.
  2. Heh, you only need 5 albums- that gives you two months an album. But yeah, some of us are compulsive new music listeners. When I have the time and access, I like to go through about 3 new (to me) albums a week. It's a bit of an addiction - I get jittery and bored when I haven't heard anything new for about a month.
  3. Thanks for the front page promo, Ian! :D    ^added, ^^added, and ^^^added. Thanks, guys. :)
  4. Aw. :disappointed: I liked their list. It's tomorrow? :stunned: It's gonna be intense...
  5. I'm all ears... :ears:
  6. Yeah, but it's a gossip arms race. The groups that report it first, true or false at the time, get to gloat later if it ever happens, and in the meantime they sell more/get more visitors. This rumor starts about every significant couple at some point in time and it has no bearing on whether it ever actually comes true. It gets passed on more when there are reasons to believe it no matter how subjective they are- Chris is on tour, Gwyneth is skinny and in public alone, and Madonna has been denying rumors for awhile. Is it in any way indicative of their actual relationship either way? No. Is it even worth waisting this much breath on? No. I'm done.
  7. In Rainbows counts as a 2007 album since it topped last years list.
  8. ^Hooray :nice:
  9. ^Nope. With Madonna's marriage out of the way they need someone new to pick at. I love how when you search google news for Coldplay now the main articles returned either say she's getting divorced or having a baby. You'd think the two sets of rumor starters would at least get their stories straight. :laugh3:
  10. ^Have 3 more for a list? Added. :D
  11. Vote for the Kooks! They're getting slaughtered right now (80-20), but their playlist is great. Who is this James and how are they so strong, anyway? :inquisitive:
  12. Oh goodness you could at least have broken his link in the quote
  13. But clearly about the attention and money for Coldplaygarism. Now if only this thread would die so I wouldn't have to look at his annoying name anymore... :vanish:
  14. If roadie 42 is Miller, the guy who wrote the X&Y tour blogs (I'm pretty sure he is), then he probably uses several different cameras. He's written before about being rather compulsive about buying cameras, especially when they're in Japan. If you can find old tour blogs he's written about brands before...
  15. Yeah, that's where it started, I think. It's also the year the aliens invade according to the X-files. I like that new era theory, though. No, that's just when the computers would end throwing the planet into mass chaos and anarchy.
  16. ^Oh, ok. Clearly I need sleep.
  17. Uh... wasn't she referring to the guy who started the thread?
  18. I knew about 2012, but why December 21st?
  19. ^Random, but I just have to say- I love your name! :D
  20. :laugh3: It is him too. Like I said, he was no music expert- more like the definition of a little knowledge being a dangerous thing. :inquisitive: Ooh, look at me, I know how chords work. That makes me smarter than you. Grr.
  21. For some reason, Sunday afternoons always make me really sleepy...
  22. :laugh3: Congratulations- you actually made me laugh out loud for once. :laugh3::laugh3:
  23. Now theres a graphic that's actually worth boycotting.
  24. 36 lists so far! Can we make it to 50?
