But man, those shots of him in Tennant's suit are freaking me out. ...are they the same height?

If you were suddenly told that you only had a week or two left to live and that treatment was an option, but there was only a 20% chance of it working what would you do? If your final days on earth were probably going to be incapacitated and in agony if you went for that 20% hope would you still try for it? Or would you accept your fate and try to find a way to live your final days as best you could? It's a frequent theme in movies, but how would it play out in your life? ...Apologies if someone's done this one already. :tongue:

Hey, I didn't find my thing until I was 26. (And I had never even thought of it before then.) As long as you're clever enough to keep your head above water, there's no rush. The only thing that's really at stake when rushing into college is the scholarships.

Hmm... I think I really need to start remembering to take more now. The dark is starting to make me sad. Ew. That is exactly why I made a point recently to find a good sensitive skin sunscreen that I wasn't allergic to. Heh... I saw an article recently about how cosmetics companies were having minor makeup hits on their hands with very pale shades of foundation and things with Twilight tie-ins because little girls wanted to look all pale and shimmery like Bella. :inquisitive: Erm... I think that could count as some sort of psychological condition, but all the same, porcelain complexions have been considered beautiful a lot longer than tanned ones on people with pale skin. Fake tans and sun damage both look so gross.

Did you ever make any decisions? Or still have a while to go? Actually come to think of it, the best thing is probably to apply to schools in both directions so that you can make a final choice based on which options are actually open to you. :thinking:

You did miss the worst of it. It settled down a bit after certain words were banned.

I don't think it's conscious. It's more like when you put a mouse in an electrified maze. If you shock them every time they do something, they're going to avoid it even if they don't remember why. If you get insulted every time you say something thoughtful it's eventually going to have a similar effect. If saying thoughtful things is subconsciously something to be avoided all that's really left is spam. How can you be insulted for something you didn't say in an empty post? Some of it may be internalizing the abuse too- give silly spam answers to intelligent posts before the next person can respond with something nastier.

Just a thought- In a way, the aliases and spam posts are kind of a logical development. It's been what? 6 months? a year? we've gone now where anything thoughtful, intelligent, or serious would be immediately responded to with an insult. If saying what you mean means that you immediately get called a **** or **** or idiot by a very small group of individuals that no one seems willing to get rid of, it makes sense that the group of people who were most sensitive to the abuse would stop posting anything thoughtful and turn to pure spam, or would want to hide behind aliases to put a bit of space between them and the abuse. I miss all the big philosophical posts too. Boring spam is boring, and the result is boredom. But we probably won't be able to deal with one problem entirely until the other problem is dealt with.

Hydration is important, but so it avoiding bathroom breaks/losing your place in line. Drink lots and lots of water for a couple of days before, and then the day of keep the amount you drink to a (healthy- drink something) minimum. Sugary drinks (pop, most juices, sports and energy drinks), caffeine, and alcohol are your enemy. Seconded on the layers- it will probably boil fast. And make sure you have a plan for storing the layers. Concerts in winter are the worst, because you need to keep warm in line outside too. Also seconded on the comfy closed-toed shoes. You may be standing in them for a long time, and if they allow people to bring drinks into the pit, there may be broken glass underfoot. Bags and purses work best if they aren't bulky and fit close to your body- you don't want them flapping around when your jumping or anyone else getting caught in them. Check the venue's policies on what you bring with you ahead of time. Some allow cameras and some don't. Some restrict really odd things, and most have a problem with bottles. Plan ahead so that your belongings are problem-free and relatively easy to search. The less time they have to spend searching and confiscating, the better your chances of getting a good spot.

Watching the Detectives. 7/10 Caught the last half on tv, but was assured it started as good and as weird and even funnier than it ended. So yeah, really really weird, and very hilarious. And it has Cillian Murphy in one of his non-creepy roles (which is usually a good thing :nice:)

Looks like you're losing your touch today. It was funny at first... but now it's just painful. :\ I think the word you're looking for is community. As in people hang around because they get to know other people. Topical boards that stay topical get a bit stale before long. With a little bit of time to absorb it all now, all I can still really say now is that I don't think I've ever been so frustrated by a tv screen being a tv screen before in my life. It's getting in the way right when he needs a hug so much. :cry: Gah actors. How do they do that? That thing with their eyes?
