Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Oh my god the book is seriously :o worthy. I love Dahl though, he's always been one of my favorite writers, even if his books are a BIT below my level now !

Coldplay doesn't have the thematic range...
If you're talking about U2 shedding it's skin, they did this a little over 10 years into their musical career with the release of Achtung Baby and the Zoo TV tour. So. Maybe we should just wait 5 more years and see what happens? U2 has released 11 studio albums. Countless live albums, movie soundtracks and have done some of the biggest tours ever seen. Coldplay has 3 albums, one live album and one major tour. I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about here, are you implying that Coldplay sound the same on every single album so far? To me, X&Y is completely different from Parachutes, which is completely different from ROBTTH. It's half the reason why I didn't like X&Y at first. Alright. Enough from me on this topic. I get very heated when someone puts my 2 favorite bands in the world head to head.

Coldplay doesn't have the thematic range...
I am a huge U2 fan. I am a huge Coldplay fan. And sometimes it's very hard to be both, since everyone's always saying one's not as good as the other or one's copying something from the other. It's starting to really. Really. Annoy me. There are so many essential elements from each band that are completely opposite. The song writing subject, for instance. Would Coldplay do a song like "40"? No, I don't think so. Would U2 do a song like Yellow? Or Speed of Sound? No. Probably the only thing similiar about the 2 bands is the guitar playing. Edge doesn't solo as much as make a melodic statement on his guitar, much like Jonny does. They're both not Jimmy Page's, they don't go on for 20 minutes with violin bows, etc. But there are thousands of bands that do similiar things to Edge's style, or to Jonny's, or ANYONES. Ah. I'm just so tired of the majority of U2 fans hating Coldplay and vice versa because the media has made up this whole "Are they the next U2?!" crap. As a fan and not a column writer? No. They are not. And I hope they never will be. *breathes and gets this out of system* There. I feel better now! (oh and what you said above to frostbitepanda is absolutely uncalled for, kthnx.)

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
I just saw it to today and really enjoyed myself. I'm glad I liked it, since I'm seeing it again later this week with my friend. There aren't many movies lately that makes me want to see them again, but this one was so entertaining, comical and fun to watch that I could go for a second helping. This whole pedophile stuff surrounding it is so frustrating to me. I really went to see Johnny Depp's portrayal of Wonka and found it quite stunning. I was never... much of a fan of the original. Maybe I saw it too young and it scarred me for life, Gene Wilder's Wonka used to scare the crap out of me. He was always yelling.... But Johnny's really fit the role of eccentric, childlike chocoletier without getting boring or tiresome. And I didn't see any gleam of bad intentions towards the children in his eyes... Maybe it's just because MJ's trial is still in the public concience but geeze. It's getting annoying to hear about constantly.

Beware Spoilers! The HP thread for those who've read it!
It's scary to think of a Harry Potter book without Harry Potter at Hogwarts. But Dumbledore is dead I guess... And if he's not even safe then they probably wont even open the place. But sorry, Harry doesn't seem TOO sharp(obviously not as much as Dumbledore), and I wonder how he's going to figure out the Horcrux's all by his lonesome, AND destroy them. How long is this book going to be, anyways?? I have no idea how JK is going to fit all this stuff into ONE book... :o I don't know if I have the energy to read another 1,000 page book like five almost was.

Happiness- Beware Spoilers! The HP thread for those who've read it!
I, personally, loved the book. I enjoyed seeing more of Voldemort's past and learning stuff about his psych, etc. Plus the Horcrux thing's pretty cool. Sort of slow and not as action packed as 5, but still it was a good read. I'm just excited for the next one, it's gonna kick major arse!- What are you thinking right now?
AHAHA, I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE DID THAT.- What are you thinking right now?
What the hell did Kelli just do?!?!!? - I am currently listening to....
