  1. Other than The Astronaut, Shine On is the only song they've played live without releasing since the release of MOTS. Coldplay's version of The Astronaut (sadly) will probably never be released, but I think they must have an idea with Shine On. It wouldn't have been played live otherwise. The mouth shut emoji suggests that as well, but the question is whether it's going to be on the fifth version of Moon Music, the EP I've seen mentioned, or as part of the musical. I'm leaning towards the first two.
  2. The problem isn't them releasing stuff - far from it - but the way they've done it. There's now four versions of the album, which is a lot regardless. The way they released those four versions is really scummy though. As nice as the Notebook Edition voice memos are, if I knew that they'd be releasing a version with a whole live album (even if it is mixed terribly) and a version with bonus tracks that included A Wave, there's no way I would have bought the Notebook Edition. So when it arrived today and was the worst of the special editions I don't think you can blame me for feeling lead on by whoever is in charge of all this. If you want to have everything from the three special editions you'll need to buy the album three times. Then they double the price for the UK release and release two of the versions physically only in the USA, and can't send people the digital versions they paid for. If they were determined to release all four versions they should have announced them all at the same time and let people choose. I would have gone with the Full Moon Edition, since the Notebook Edition is now a bit pointless compared to the other two special versions. Or they could have made a bundle with all four versions together.
  3. Something I'd like to do when MOTS3 comes out in whatever form that may be, is to listen to the three in one long go. I'd probably also assemble my own 'ultimate MOTS' which would take the best bits from all three albums to make one banger. But as we don't have MOTS3 yet, here's what I came up with for just MOTS and MM: D1SA: Forever Held / Moon Music Jupiter Humankind / Alien Choir Neon Forest All My Love I Am A Mountain D1SB: Aeterna Good Feelings Man in The Moon Angel Song The Karate Kid Human Heart D2SA: Higher Power (Acoustic) Let Somebody Go Feels Like I'm Falling in Love Day 'n' Nite D2SB: One World A Wave Infinity Sign / Coloratura Additionally I have made an un-ultimate MOTS album, which combines the efforts of mainly the first album to create the worst CD to ever hit store shelves: Overtura Music Of The Spheres / Higher Power Higher Power (Alyx Ander Remix) Higher Power (ZHU Remix) Higher Power (Tiesto Remix) Feels Like I'm Falling In Love (Zerb Remix) Music Of The Spheres 2 / My Universe My Universe (SUGA's Remix) My Universe (Supernova 7 Remix) - I do really like the Supernova 7 Remix but I think I might be alone on that... My Universe (Galantis Remix) My Universe (David Guetta Remix) Let Somebody Go (Kygo Remix) Let Somebody Go (Ofenbach Remix) People Of The Pride We Pray (TINI Version) We Pray (Elyanna Version) We Pray (? Version) Biutyful
  4. I really want a longer version of Forever Held as well.
  5. This is what it really should have been from the beginning.
  6. Good news: I bought the Full Moon Edition on FLAC, and not only did they actually send it to me, I got the right version!
  7. Sorry to change the subject, but did anyone who bought the Tour Edition actually get the WAV files they were promised?
  8. They dropped the price of the normal Moon Music on iTunes to £7.99. Really scummy tactics.
  9. I wonder if they'll release a full version with the voice memos, the live tracks and the Blue Moons bonus tracks? What I don't understand is why the physical releases are only available in the US, and why the digital version is double the price in the UK. I really don't like this release strategy, it's screaming 'milking the fanbase' to me.
  10. And now they've released the Full Moon Edition, which has ten bonus tracks including A Wave. Interestingly this version gives you the choice between MP3, WAV and FLAC. All of them are the same price, so there is literally no reason to go for anything other than FLAC. If anyone from Coldplay reads this, please stop releasing new versions of Moon Music.
  11. If you're eligible you will be sent an email with a download link for it. Make sure to check in your spam folder.
  12. I wasn't aware they had a chat facility. Just reply to the confirmation email, or send an email to [email protected].
  13. I got the album delivered today, and when I was ripping the CD I noticed an issue, although this is not a problem with the CD. When I put the Notebook disc in, the old Windows Media Player thought it was the Tour Edition. This is an issue that I've been seeing with multiple CDs; I think there is something wrong with the metadata source WMP uses.
  14. The problem isn't that nobody is getting the Tour Edition because there have only been a few reports of it not being sent. I did get sent it, but they sent the MP3 version. This is the version that was given for free for people who had pre-ordered, but the store page stated that the WAV version would be sent. I sent in a support request, but there is no response yet. If there is no response, I do have the right to force a refund through PayPal as the item was not delivered as expected.
  15. I got it delivered immediately but they sent the wrong version. The Coldplay Store is a complete joke. If you have a confirmation order you can reply to it to send a support request if it doesn't come through (I'd wait a day or so before doing that). If you paid via PayPal you also have the option of reversing the charge if you don't get anything back from support, but I'd use it as a last resort.
  16. I never believed it anyway. But if it was true it still wouldn't mean anything anyway. Life is Beautiful's sample was used twice on Music of the Spheres, Speed of Sound is basically Clocks, and Moon Music is startlingly similar to parts of Coloratura.
  17. Since it isn't available digitally yet there's a finite amount of people who actually can listen to it at the moment. I've ordered it and now my package is finally on its way I'll soon be able to give my thoughts on it. I don't think it's a perfect release to be fair, and that may be why not many people seem to be that interested in it on here. My main issue is the cover art. I think the standard cover art is my favourite of any Coldplay album, but the Notebook Edition cover is just pretty bland. It's part of the reason why I got both the record and CD; to have both covers. Perhaps they were trying to go for the same thing as the Infinity Station version of MOTS, but what works for one cover design won't work for another. I do like the Infinity Station silver cover but if I ever get a vinyl version of MOTS (Coloratura played on a record must be a vibe) I'll get the standard version for variety. I bought the Epiphany Edition of My Universe for the much better cover art as well... Going back to Moon Music, the release strategy of the album is weird. I've already given my thoughts on the silly way the singles were released, but the album is just as weird. To announce a third version of the album just as it releases which is only available for a limited time with a whole live EP as bonus content is an odd move, and for it to have a physical release only in the USA is really weird as well. I bet that physical release will shoot up in value on Discogs very soon. I wish that they did an ultimate edition that had the Notebook Edition and Tour Edition combined, because that would be a lot more compelling than several disjointed releases. ------------ More problems. Now that I've received my iTunes refund I bought the Tour Edition... Only for the link to download the MP3 version, not the WAV version that was promised on the store page. The pain never ends. Coldplay need to ditch Shopify as well as Ticketmaster. The idiocy of all this has gone from being angering to being kind of funny, like Basil Fawlty is running the whole Coldplay store. Or maybe it's just a sign of madness. 😂
  18. I got an email from the Coldplay store apologising for the delay, which seems to not just affect me but everyone else in the UK. As someone else said earlier, they're giving out the Tour Edition as an apology which is great. However, this is only the MP3 version and not the WAV files the paid version have. They have a bitrate of 224kb/s but to me sound marginally worse than the iTunes version I've had to have refunded. It's a nice thing to have, but I don't see why they couldn't have given the WAV version instead.
  19. Nope. Support didn't get back to me and the order is still shown as pending. If it wasn't a well-known store I'd think I was being scammed. iTunes wasn't great either, as Feels Like I'm Falling in Love refuses to download. I've had to get Apple support to refund the album so I can buy it again, but I might as well get the digital tour edition for a little bit more.
  20. Hopefully the new tour version ends up on the Internet somewhere in the coming weeks. I really would like to listen to the live versions but I won't be able to justify buying a fourth copy of this album.

  22. I'm listening to it now. iTunes refused to download Feels Like I'm Falling in Love since I own the single, so if there are any differences on the album version I don't know. Here are my thoughts on each song: Moon Music: A very surprising choice for a first track, but I like unique things like that and both halves of the song are very nice. Feels Like I'm Falling in Love: It's a simple song but I do still like it. We Pray: As has been discussed in this thread in August, I absolutely despise this song. It makes no sense being on the album and should have been a non-album single, which would have allowed me to ignore its existence. Jupiter: It's okay. The ending where the song fades out, then fades back in again, then fades into Two Aliens, is very weirdly done. It almost feels like they messed up the project in Logic Pro and there was meant to be something in the gap. Alas, there is not. Good Feelings: Unfortunately this isn't as much of a banger as the live version, and the mixing here got rid of a lot of the nice bits from that live version that made me like it so much. It's still a banger, but probably only a half-banger. Alien Hits: I'll review the different sections separately. Neon Forest is great, and I liked it from the moment it leaked. The extra vocals at the start are a nice touch but a bit misplaced. The middle section (I can't remember the name) is nice, and I really like the spoken word bit at the end. I Am a Mountain: Another song that I've had controversial opinions on. I love the instrumental, but I still think the lyrics are among the most braindead of any Coldplay song. No Coldplay song has deserved better lyrics more than IAAM in my mind. Aeterna: I really liked the live version and the leaked version, and the new version hasn't taken away from those like the album version of Good Feelings. The ending is jarring straight after Aeterna; it should have been a separate track. All My Love: It's okay. The second half is a lot nicer than the first half; another case of Feels Like I'm Falling In Love Syndrome. One World: Really lovely, with by far the best production on the album. The hidden track (does anyone know what the name is?) is controversial but I actually really like it. It reminds me of The Goldrush and has the same low-fi recording of POTP/WOTW that I like in isolation. On a final note, I'm sure the field recording at the start of One World is actually stock audio, because I think it was used in Rail Simulator from 2007. I'll need to check that. Some more thoughts: I don't think the album works as a cohesive package. To be fair I don't think any Coldplay album released after Ghost Stories does. That said, there has clearly been some effort put into the album. The little field recordings and ad libs dotted throughout the album give me the feeling that real people put in effort and cared about what they made... Even if what they made had to include We Pray because potato. As I said before, We Pray bares no resemblance to any other song on the album or any other song Coldplay have ever made. As far as I'm concerned it's a Los Unidades song, not Coldplay. I know a lot of people like it, but I'd rather be deaf than listen to it. The production is once again spotty. Good Feelings is the most disappointing when it comes to the mixing. When I listened to the live version I thought there was no way they could mess it up, Then they did. Of course the other issues I pointed out still stand, and even though the album took two years longer to release than I thought it would I still wish they'd spent more time listening to the album to see how it flowed. If you've ever listened to Diamond Mine by King Creosote you might understand me when I say that Coldplay were trying to imitate that style of album, but not very well. I don't mean musically, but in the setup. I do wonder if the concept would have been helped if Coloratura was on this album instead of MOTS... Ultimately this is the closest we've had to a good Coldplay album since Ghost Stories (excluding Everyday Life). However, I get the feeling that some of the songs, particularly IAAM, are Coldplay trying to parody their own style without remembering how to actually make songs like that work. It's basically Coldplay's equivalent of Every Breaking Wave by U2. The whole album seems like the start of a better Coldplay, but we'll have to wait to actually get a Coldplay album that reverses the ten years of decline after Ghost Stories. Everyday Life wasn't it, and Moon Music isn't either.
  23. No update from the Coldplay UK store about my delivery. The Shop app is still showing the item as 'pending' leading me to believe it hasn't even reached the warehouse. I made my order in June and paid for premium shipping - I should be getting it tomorrow, not in the next two weeks. Jon Hopkins will not be happy.
  24. I assume it will be on Juno on the fourth, but I was wondering if there was a download for it included (like the 320kbps MP3 download that came with EL vinyls and the FLAC download that came with New Order's Music Complete).
