  1. My theory with Shine On is that it wa s cut relatively late in the albumโ€™s production. I canโ€™t imagine a world where Chris would play a song live in public that he knew would not be on the next album. Every other new song that was played live after MOTS released made it onto Moon Music to my knowledge. Iโ€™m not going to listen to the album on the website as I might as well wait for the album to be delivered. That said I donโ€™t think itโ€™s going to be delivered on launch day (because decent service is not to be expected) so I guess Iโ€™ll pre-order it on iTunes as well. For people who have the CD already - what are the voice memos like?
  2. You are allowed to say leak by the way. The restriction is that you can't upload leaks or link to them on the public forum.
  3. Never I think some people said the Japanese bonus tracks were the alternate versions of We Pray but I can't confirm that's what actually on there. Wouldn't it be 'hilarious' if the Japanese bonus tracks were all of the great cut Coldplay songs...
  4. Sometimes I wonder if the near-constant touring and recording takes a toll on the band... What if Chris, as much as he may enjoy music, would really like to have a peaceful life running a farm in the Cotswolds opposite Jeremy Clarkson. He could sell his cows' milk as 'Milk of the Spheres', his lentils as 'Everyday Lentils', his beef as 'Viva la Beefa', and his honey as 'Yellow Honey'.
  5. It is worth noting though that what we've heard isn't definitive. None of the songs have to my knowledge had a leak that is identical to the album version. This isn't like the whole album leaks we've had in the past, rather it's a slow trickle of versions of songs that may be years out of date. Still cool to have though.
  6. Someone I spoke to on Reddit said that they started at 36000 and it sold down when they got down to 8000. I assume then that there may be around 30000 pre-sale seats for Wembley. I'm in the Wembley pre-sale that started at 2:30 today. I began at 66000 and now I'm at 13000. It's dropping a bit quickly but not as quickly as the morning one which leaves me a tiny bit of hope that there are still seats left. Update: I got to the end of the queue and there was only one seat left which I couldn't take because I was planning to go with a group of four. That's a day of my life wasted.
  7. I have 46000 people in front of me but the queue has stopped moving and I think it's glitched. I've been waiting for almost four hours just for this to happen. UPDATE: It has begun moving again, but I've seen people on Reddit saying that it's sold out and there's no point in waiting. I'm staying in the queue just in case there are tickets left for the 27th but I expect I will have wasted my day. There really should be a better system than this.
  8. My previous interpretation was that the song is about someone who has gone through a rough patch in a relationship and has been getting better over time, but the more myself and my friend looked into the lyrics the more we thought that the lyrics are too ambiguous to strongly suggest a meaning. There have been plenty of interpretations from people given on this thread, and our opinion on the matter is that there is an element of adding meaning to fill in the gaps left by the poor writing of the song. For context, my friend is a (rather good) songwriter for choirs and plays, and I know his opinion on this isn't being pulled out of his arse. There are 32 lines in the song. Only 18 of them are unique lines. When we looked through the song together, the amount of lines we found that contributed to the proposed meanings on this thread was just five. Every other unique line has a flaky meaning at best. Much of the song - too much - is dedicated to describing a 'feeling', but what the feeling is god only knows, because I can't figure it out. I'm not sure perseverance counts as a feeling. Love could count, but that has nothing to do with the generally agreed upon meaning of the song. Another issue is something I pointed out to my friend when we were calling. When reading the lyrics below, try to forget the song they're from: "Iโ€™m really sorry for some things I said along the way I really love you, I just didnโ€™t like myself that day" "Stood on a sea of pain [...] I'll be back on my feet again" If the song was the length of Blackstar (the song) by David Bowie and had lyrics that told a story like Blackstar does, I could make a connection by assuming that the two are at far ends of a song that tells a detailed story. In reality, there is little connection between those two sections despite them being right next to each other. Whoever wrote the song really should have thought about that whilst putting the song together. My suggestions to improve the song would be this: Blackstar's choruses are barely connected to the rest of Blackstar's lyrics but manages to be relevant. It is a part of the Major Tom story and adds context to the 'Major Tom landing on another planet and becoming a god' part of it that is popular online. Only 15% of I Am a Mountain's lyrics contribute to the story in a meaningful way, and having three of the five lines in the chorus is quite shoddy. My suggestion would be to keep it, but have it sung only once near the end of the song. If this was applied to the current arrangement of the song this would meaning only the last chorus would remain. The first verse contributes nothing to the song and is among the laziest writing of any Coldplay song. It shouldn't be in a song that is being released to the public. The first verse should be replaced with something else, and a third should be added to flesh out the song. Alternatively they could go the other way and copy DAAHF's lyrics by having a short and ambiguous (but pleasant) first verse and a smartly written chorus at the end of the song. Either way, I really don't think the current lyrics of I Am a Mountain are good enough and I would truly prefer the song on the album to be an instrumental. The chorus is overall better than the verses, but not by much. If there is an official and high-quality instrumental release it will undoubtedly be played more on my computer than the version with lyrics.
  9. The instrumental is undoubtedly some of the best work they've ever done, but the lyrics (particularly the chorus) verge on being nonsensical. As an example, "Everyone taking aim / Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain" has no meaning and he might as well be singing 'blah blah blah' in tune with the music. I can tell that they were going for something with the lyrics as I talked about in a previous post, but I feel like they got bored of working on it and filled up the song with words that sound cool to save time. Little thought was put into the lyrics - the lyrics of My Universe and Something Just Like This make more sense from a storytelling standpoint.
  10. The more I listen to I Am A Mountain the more I love the instrumental, but I also feel more that the lyrics are possibly the worst of any Coldplay song. It's really disappointing. I don't think there's been a Coldplay song that deserves a rewrite more than I Am A Mountain.
  11. I asked the Coldplay Store support this but didn't get a useful answer. I bought the record and Notebook Edition CD, but the photos and description didn't make it clear when I bought it whether it was just the Notebook Edition CD or if it included the notebook itself. I assume it has both, but I don't want to be disappointed on the 4th.
  12. Almost every song on the album has been heard in some form already. There will still be surprises though, because some of the demos will be quite old by the time the album comes out. Good Feelings sounds nothing like the demo, for example.
  13. Something about the way Chris signs "summon up lightning" makes it sound like "summer love lightning", which until the song leaked I thought was the actual lyric.
  14. Don't get your hopes up. IIRC I bought the premium shipping and it was delivered a day or two after release. Granted I am in the UK, but it's still a bit crap. I've considered pre-ordering it on iTunes as well just so that I can listen to a higher quality version on the day. Meanwhile, Amazon delivered my copy of Gran Turismo 7 a day early, so people pre-ordering with them should be fine. I would have if the version I wanted was available there.
  15. I've listened to the high(er) quality leak and I definitely like it more. The lyrics are a bit crap in parts (mainly the first chorus) but the song has a huge amount of energy. I fully expect the song to become a mainstay of Coldplay's live shows in the future. Like Feels Like I'm Falling in Love I think this one will really come alive when it's played live. As for the lyrics, I think there is potential with what's already there to make the song a bit more bittersweet. I can tell from some of the lyrics that there was an element of that - I think of it as someone apoligising for their past self and trying to explain how they've got better over the years. However, I think Coldplay have yet again swerved too much into the love song lyrics. That said, the instrumental is really really good, and I think in some ways surpasses even Coloratura. For once I think they got the mixing right, which is a rare achievement for Coldplay post-Ghost Stories. I think the Death and All His Friends comparison works the best when the song is not viewed as DAAHF 2, but rather the modern Coldplay equivalent of it.
  16. Remember that if the leak did come from FC 25, the song may have been cut down and could be longer on the album. It's quite common for video games to have shorter versions of songs.
  17. When I created the Moon Music thread in 2021 I started it in the MOTS subforum since the MM one obviously didn't exist. At this point however there is still no subforum for Moon Music which there really should be, with all of the MM-related threads moved to it (unless the plan is to have all Music of the Spheres-related media to be kept in the same subforum). I think it would also be sensible to have the main Moon Music thread pinned.
  18. I've listened to the leak. The file is horribly compressed and a lot of the audio has been lost, so it isn't a good measure of how good the instrumental is. However from what I could make out the song is very good. I don't think it's the next Death and All His Friends, but it might be the next Champion of the World or Weirdo. That isn't a bad thing by any means.
  19. I think Neon Forest (assuming that's its real name anyway) was known as Moon Song at one point, but I don't know for certain.
  20. https://youtube.com/shorts/EKAKmVorQq4?si=pAzozHlXmvjb6hqU Presumably this is the preview in question?
  21. I was about to say the same thing. While players of the game will presumably be able to hear it, any uploads of it will likely be blocked on YouTube at least. If there's anyone on here who is going to get FC 25 and it turns out that the song can't be uploaded, an audio recording from the game would be appreciated.
  22. https://youtu.be/Xrd5Y05V-eQ?si=7OgKJfmeaXtoiGq1 At the end of this video the band start playing this unknown song. Unfortunately the person didn't record the whole thing so we probably won't ever know what the rest of the song will sound like, but does anyone know anything at all about the song? A name even?
  23. It's worth noting that the recording is horribly compressed, and the song may be better (or worse) once we hear the full quality release. From what I heard (with the bad recording, through my phone speakers, at a low volume) there are bits that I don't really like and bits that I love.
  24. If you go digging, most of the songs on the album have been heard in one form or another already, and so far it's been so good. I think it says a lot that your post is the first I've seen in quite a while that is negative about the new album. Overall the community at large seems to be looking forward to it, certainly a lot more than MOTS.
  25. Something is off with the way they've set up the album on iTunes. I pre-ordered Feels Like I'm Falling In Love on iTunes since they weren't going to release it on CD for some reason. This worked as expected. However, on the Moon Music page the song shows as purchased, but can't be played nor downloaded. I bought We Pray on iTunes today because it was cheap and I can get a discount on the full album should I buy the iTunes version too - this was not released as a single on iTunes and can only be bought as a part of the Moon Music album. This means that the other versions won't be available, and presumably this applies to Apple Music too. I really don't know why they set it up like this. The entire single release strategy has been really weird so far. First they release their first single in years but not physically, and release one remix a few weeks before the next single, which did get a physical release but is marketed as if it was a non-album single. And the physical release includes versions of the song that are for now exclusive to it. Who on earth is making these decisions?
