  1. They're not smashing by any means of course, but 55.8 million streams in a week on Spotify is pretty solid if you take into account that MOTS had 68.4 million on the back of two collaborations.
  2. I actually enjoyed their review. I don't agree with the rating of course, but it's consistent with their opinion (better than MOTS, not as good as EL) and the writer bothered to point out where the band can do better. A stark contrast with that attention seeking review from The Independent (1/5 compared to MOTS' 3/5).
  3. Context is important here: Pitchfork was super indie in the 2000s, they hated anything popular back then.
  4. It's been almost one week since Moon Music came out and... Yeah... This is much better than Music of the Spheres. I'm not sure if the album is a Top 3 for me yet, but it's definitely a Top 5. I haven't listened to anything outside of it after October 4th.
  5. I would kill to have Earthling released, with vocal effects and all, I love it. The only way this song can improve for me is if Will sings it (without vocal effects).
  6. I still think Vol. III will be an EP released next year, even though we just got this new batch of songs.
  7. Parlophone most likely wants them to score a #1 in both sides of the Atlantic, the UK is a given but the US is difficult, so the band are pulling all the guns.
  8. The song is called Alien Hits / Alien Radio, not Rainbow.
  9. One thing to have in mind about Coldplay is that they have worked A LOT in the past two decades. I'm the one who compiled their live performances list on Wikipedia and it's just insane how many gigs were carried out along the way, good for them to finally take some time to rest.
  10. Just to correct you a bit on the studio thing: The Bakery was never theirs according to Phil, they just rented it. Also, the band still have The Beehive and refurbished it recently.
  11. I think they'll just handle things like the Rolling Stones, who spent 18 years without releasing a studio album (Blue & Lonesome is just a bunch of covers). LP13 will be very cool.
  12. This is so true. Critics were super quick to drag MOTS and call them desperate for relevance, but now that they have a better album and are indisputably relevant (10 million tickets sold), it's crickets. And coming from Rolling Stone makes things particularly infuriating for me, because in this very year they gave amazing scores to many boring albums, like The Story of Us from nepobaby Gracie Abrams.
  13. Anyway, about the interview: Chris did mentioned the possibility of putting out unreleased material. Their post-LP12 era might be a lot more fun than we think.
  14. Oh my god, just let The Race die already!!
  15. Local midnight. I think MOTS was the same thing, hence why it "leaked" one day before.
  16. She has bonus tracks on the re-recordings, and none of them were produced by him despite the fact she invited other people involved in the album back.
  17. At this point I don't see why one track would leak but not the whole album. As Phil would say, let's hold our horses.
  18. It's a well known fact. Taylor Swift didn't invited him for her re-recordings because of that.
  19. Max Martin always asks for songwriting credits on the songs he produces, so yes, Good Feelings was done without his involvement. The credits that are up right now on Wikipedia is because some tracks already got registered on ASCAP.
  20. Based on everything we got, Moon Music might be their best pop album for me. Even if one is pessimistic about it, I don't see how this can turn out worse than MOTS (which I don't think is horrible per se, but it's their weakest album nevertheless).
  21. I wouldn't be surprised if Good Feelings was Guy's idea considering he loves funk.
  22. I'm just months away from getting my English/Portuguese degree in college and let me tell you that considering song lyrics poetry is actually a very heated debate in our circles (I'm in favour of it).
  23. The fact people always say Chris didn't put any effort is a reflection of that. He can always push himself even harder of course, but if there was no work behind it, we wouldn't get the huge collection of drafts that is the Notebook edition.
