I find it weird complaining about vagueness in Coldplay lyrics because that's something that has been pointed out by critics even on the earlier albums, it's basically a fork found in the kitchen for me. Being specific and a storyteller is more of a Taylor Swift thing.

Not all lyrics have to tell a story, that's not how poetry works. And as for them being ambiguous, ambiguity is not lack of meaning, but the multitude of it.

It's cheesy but so do Coldplay themselves to an extent. Nevertheless, I will say that I love how Chris evoked elements of nature for the lyrics of this album.

Maybe creatively, but the lush production is his through and through. Let's give credit where credit is due.

I talked earlier about how 'Moon Music' is probably a career review of sorts, but let's not get it twisted: Coldplay referencing their own music doesn't mean that X song is supposed to be the new Y song (no pun intended). "The Scientist" portrays a failed relationship, while "All My Love" is closer to a wedding vow. Similarly, "I Am a Mountain" expresses newfound confidence, which has nothing to do with "Death and All His Friends" and its desire to break from toxic cycles.

It will never get to be "The Scientist" because no matter how good a song is, you guys will always find a reason to nitpick any post-Viva release. Not even "Coloratura" was enough for some.

Max is credited as the main producer in Coloratura, I know you guys want to paint him as this evil pop overlord but he isn't.

Everyday Life is *meant* to be incoherent, once that clicked for me it became a Top 3 album.

I would say iAAM is much closer to Viva than Mylo, same for Neon Forest.

Brian Eno was not mentioned in any of their press releases for Moon Music, let's not make things up.

Based on everything I heard from the album (including the leaked demos), Moon Music feels like a career review for me. I don't know for you guys but I think album number 10 is the perfect time for them to look back into their own artistry. This isn't to say there wasn't space for new stuff though, We Pray is alternative hip hop, they never done that before.

I ended up finding a better quality version (still not the best) and IAAM is amazing. I was actually surprised to see a negative comment on Reddit and Twitter, it has so much of what makes Coldplay great.

It looks nothing like MX era.

They are probably holding the other songs back as much as possible so people don't create any expectations.

I thought everyone knew how Neon Forest sounds already? A demo leaked, it's very shoegazy. Unlikely to be the album opener though.

I've been mostly out of the loop from the forum, so has anyone talked about Neon Forest here? It reminds me so much of Chinese Sleep Chant, definitely a highlight.

Everyday Life is not exempt from cheesy lyrics either, no album in their discography is, in fact. With that said, I agree it was more well written than MOTS.

I don't get why people are being so negative about Good Feelings. The lyrics are not excellent, sure, but the instrumental is so good and funky. If you look for the artists that inspired Guy, this is right up his alley.

Most of the last six months were about taking a well deserved vacation since they are touring a lot, I don't know why you people keep demanding constant activity from the band when everything will lead to complaints anyway.

That crowd will never calm down. In what depends on them, Coldplay would be releasing Parachutes 10.0 and probably performing at some random old London pub rather than being named the defining band of the 21st century.

Proper singles usually have a whole rollout: they get their own artwork, music video, are sent to radio stations, streaming playlists and get promoted on a global scale. The only ones to fit those criteria during MOTS era were Higher Power, My Universe and Let Somebody Go.
