  3. At the start of 'Dry your eyes' there is a tune i am sure I have heard before! Does anyone know what it is?
  4. I hope CP dont change to much. I would rather see an album full of Fix yous than Lows. Swallowed by the Sea should be 4th
  5. its a JOKE! Honestly They are still gonna be Coldplay, not Abba :P
  6. Israel was a right to exist. Also, recent developments have shown that we could be heading to a solution and Israel was a right to defend it-self, it is a democratic government and should not have to deal with terrorist attacks
  7. I think the main part 'birds go flying at the speed of sound to show you what its all about' also means awe and inspiration. I think that is what it is about, just the sense of awe and amazment the world can give you 'Japan and China all lit up'
  8. Speed of sound, as far as i can tell is nothing to do with a girl. I think its to do with achivement and discovering. 'look up, I look up at night planets are moving at the speed of light' and 'ideas that you'll never find or the inventors could never design the buildings that you put up Japan and China... all lit up' I think it is about awe and inspiration. All the things mentioned are the kind of things that amaze you and are beautiful. Just a song about amazing things...
  9. I personally was for the war, although for humanitarian reasons. In hindsight it was a bad idea, but its nice and clear now. It was not before. I would still support a war against an government which committed crimes inflicting on human rights. I do not like this idea of staying away afraid of getting involved. I think a mandate based on human rights is what we should see more of. I also do not blame America for the worlds problems, When people are killing because they hate the idea of capitalism and want the world to be under islamic law then you are dealing with people who do not have a legitimate political cause, you are dealing with murders. I do have disagreements with the current American government but that doesn't diminish my respect for America
  10. Although its easy in hindsight
  11. I think you have some very biased media on the left as well....
  12. ROBTTH
  13. What the site gonna be anyway? Expect coldplay of course ;)
  14. yellowplay.com
  15. look at song names and use them or change them
  16. Rushofblood? XandY?
  17. What about Diet Coke?
  18. If you know where to look it can be ok. BBC tends to have good coverage and analysis, especially Newnight! Newsnight has around 20 mins for each of there 3 main issues! Reporting, and a lot of analysis and interviews (always from both sides) BBC is very good generally.
  19. Keane and Coldplay. They dont just sound like each other, they have links :D
  20. Damien replied to RJ Fox's topic in Coldplay
Its quite odd, opening up a topic on a internet forum to hypothetically discuss the parental agreements of a child should the parents divorce
  21. Communism sounds crap in theory as it is in practice. BTW The Bush administration didnt change the names of fries. Your problem in america is not the republicans it is the media, 7 minute segments discussing issues that miss the point. A media which constantly has to remind its viewers about what is american. I was watching Fox news the other day (and other ones before i might add) and your quality of analysis is RUBBISH. Your news is sound-bites and entertainment, it is delivered a break-neck speed as this is what the viewers want. You as a public do not want questions left open, you do not want to have to deal with complex problems. You want to know where you should stand rather than deciding yourself. News companys never sit down and discuss both sides of an issue, they have the god awful segments and most of that is explaining what the issue is about. You also have a incredibly biased media on both sides. You need to get a in-depth news source, one that does not treat you like you were born yesterday. One that doesn't shy away from complex problems (or admitting that issues are complex), and seeks to inform rather than decide. It is happing here too, and It is down to the anger people want to feel for a certain side or group. It is also down to a society were smart people are meant to feel ashamed about their ability, where 'plain-spoken' is better than someone who can engage with the issues and the complex problems that they represent. Calling bush names, or the right names is just as bad as them calling anyone who is pro-choice 'baby killers'. We all need more mature debate where there is equal respect, not always agreement as that is a good thing and ensures the minority opinion is heard, it provides opposition to keep those in power honest. But with a better way of handling debate and news we can actually make progress.
  22. The thing is coldplay are more of an album band anyway. If you like Coldplay, or there songs you are the type of buy the album. I am not sure if Fix You has the ability to capture casual audiences who are more likely to buy singles. Yellow, The scientist, In My place are far better candidates to get them to no 1 but never did. I cannot believe that, although with the added hype and fame Coldplay have had recently I think Yellow/Scientist would do it
  23. Now you do :wink3:
