While I agree, I'm confident in Davide's and Coldplay's direction.

Its ugly for sure. Us fans are snapping at each other for every little thing (i'm guilty of it too). But what bums me out is i'm not convinced anything will really solve it. They played iHeart which was their first appearance in the new era and we complained. They played a brand new song after such a long time off and we complained. Even further back, they released Ghost Stories and it wasn't what fans thought and we complained. It's been a very long time since i've seen this forum genuinely and unanimously happy. And i'm not blaming the band whatsoever. I'm blaming ourselves for just not being very grateful about what we do get from the band. Users joke that maybe the band read this forum and will see we're desperate for news. But if i'm the band and read the comments around here, I wonder why bother if they hate the material and direction we've been heading towards.

Complain about coldplay, sure Criticize others, nah. the 'underdeveloped' comment (which kinda triggered all this) was just a poor word choice and not so much 'intent to harm' i'm sure. But like the user above you said, lets just like whatever we want, and perhaps be a bit more careful with words and less offended between fans.

I think the 'money lost' is through the decision not to tour extensively when they have in the past. And also, we're saying it wasn't a money maker relative to other eras where they did tour.

Again, I agree that they shouldn't care about that stuff. But then again, there's a reason why you and I aren't label execs! lol

I may be naive when i say this, but I don't think coldplay are in it for the money. But its the management/record label/execs that are out for money. What do all people with money and power want? More money and power.

While I agree from a fan perspective, management is not thinking this way. Especially after the GS era where the band didn't tour all that much, the execs are looking to break the bank with LP7. They aren't about to piss away the chance to make maximum profit just to get into a duel with Adele.

Iunno, to me, the lack of announcment means they're working on the album which suggests a better product in the end. This makes me more excited than anxious/irritated. An album in the new year won't disappoint me.

Yeah, I think the band should feel more confident in their work and 'fight fire with fire' so to speak and not worry about competing with Adele. But im sure the execs are more cautious than that lol.

what I like to do is tell ppl that complaining will get them nowhere with this (and in life). But apparently you've got many users who feel the same way as you. And so whatever I write will probably be lost anyways too. To that I say, 'I hear you'. I know exactly how I come across to you guys, as described by Kaisin here. I don't mind the role I have in this forum; I know what I'm saying is true as I've seen it before. You're all free to do as you wish of course, but I don't say what I say to be mean and controlling. I say it to offer some guidance to save you some time and effort. I just feel the need to offer you guys the other side of the story so you won't look back months from now and say, 'I wish someone would've told me how pointless that was'. Because I did say it, and I've been saying it. one more thing before I close the book on this. You say you wish to be as carefree as I about this situation. Realize there's a world outside this forum and go visit it once in a while. Not only is it a nice break from this thread, but it makes time pass quicker and before you know it, a single will actually drop. I've made no enemies on this forum and this post doesn't change that. I guess my strategy to wait for this single to drop is just a lot different than others'. I see that now. So go on and actually try out your plan. Either you actually succeed and I'll be the first to congratulate you all. Or you will see what I've been trying to warn you about all along first hand.

AP are faster than anyone else it seems, but they are just as prone to jumping the gun and misreporting as anyone. CPZ are italian IIRC, and since i don't speak italian nor trust the translations I stay away as well.
