  1. it does kinda matter though... there's a certain beauty to a real acoustic instrument.. the way mozart to the beatles to elton john used it.
  2. thank for for this information. gotta say, i'm a bit dissapointed that it's not a real piano though.
  3. Hey guys, just curious, since i can't find it on the web anymore, what pianos have coldplay used during their three different tours? I'm most curious about the Viva tour piano because i really adore the sound, but what about the others as well? Thanks!
  4. When I first heard Violet Hill, i thought it sounded like it could be Phil Collin's genesis, specifically a song like "That's All" or something, and now, Strawberry Swing reminds me of something like "Throwing it All Away". thoughts?
  5. i've been looking everywhere for it... can't seem to find itl... thanks to any responses
  6. hooray for piano

i have a real piano and an electric piano to play for shows and to play at night with headphones and such. They're great, you definatly need weighted keys, because non weighted keys suck. Also, with electric pianos you can get midi cables to hook them into your computer so you can write music. You should try to figure out which company you think would be the best... for example, coldplay uses a yamaha i think...
  8. any five for fighting sheet music we don't have to buy?
  9. how awesome is your life? hahahahahaha seriously, working church organ is cool stuff. but piano teacher in lingerie is even cooler.
  10. i have a roland keyboard amp. it's awesome. it has like, four channels, too. i lov eit. but yeah there is sposed to be a big difference, even though i've never tried them side by side.
  11. are you learning all your songs from that guy on youtube? ... i really hope you aren't. his little trancriptions are always messed up in some way. he's not the best. he's cocky too... well for one, if you've ever noticed when he performs songs, he perfroms them with the CD track in the background.... and he always has headphones. not a performer as much as an imitator.... nevermind, let it be is done by a different guy. the one guy who doesn't have a tripod isn't really close, and the other guy with two keyboards is playing some wierd version witht he vocal melody in the right hand. and his piano doesn't sound like a piano.
  12. I know i should by them, but you can't really get them in america unless you import them, and importing is another ten bucks, so the book comes out to like, 42 bucks. Can anyone post a file with scans of the entire sheet music book?
  13. i private messaged you.
  14. Does anyone have any elton john sheet music? thanks in advance
  15. thank you. got any james blunt? i'd fancy high or goodbye my lover. great job though. someone appreciates it.
  16. there's goign to be an official book coming out soon. i sgugest buying it.
  17. there's a copy of vienna out there... and there's the official over my head sheet music but that's not great. i don't think theres anything else out there.
  18. dude i'll be honest... your videos don't really impress me. that stuff's learnable in a couple of months for a begginer piano player, and as far as anyone else, you can learn those songs in 15 or 20 minutes... coldplay's not hard to play at all from a musical standpoint. work on a cover or a coldplay song that's really hard like shiver, and make it good, or just do audio covers. we dont need videos of this. or write your own music.
  19. who's the idiot who posts himself doing the coldplay songs on hsi piano? that aggravates me so much for two reasons- one, if you're gonna do a cover, just make it audio and make it sound good, we don't need videos of your goofy ass, and two, make it original or something, the kid just played the songs like they were "extremely difficult" while in reality anyone over twelve could be playing coldplay in a year.
  20. here's the skinny-- i'm 16 and a half now, and in a couple of months i'll be playing piano for two years. i play everyday for some amount of time because i enjoy it so much. initially i tried learning music that was way too hard for me, such as ben folds and ben folds five, and then i stepped backwards. every coldplay song is easy to me now, and i started learning coldplay last fall. It depends more on how much you enjoy the instruement and whether you have any god given talent. I have friends who can't even keep a steady beat or humm a tune without going off. That's a bad sign. I play everyday, and if you learn how to read, and just keep practicing coldplay will look easy in a year.

name don't spam it. crest of waves
  22. Gah! No piano? I'm shocked and dissapointed. It's part of the reason i liek coldplay, because of the piano. I'm a pianist myself and i'm drawn to music where piano is used as a main instrument. thanks for all the replies though, it's good to see different fews. it's not that i don't like the songs now, it's just i think most of the songs would sound better with not as much overlay and what not. speaking of bands and songwriters changing for the better, are any of you ben lee fans? he started out as a wierd kid writer, and he writes a better album each time. He's going reverse coldlplay, with his new album being mostly acoustic guitar stuff.
  23. :/ Hey everyone, I'm not saying coldplay is over produced yet or anything, but i've noticed that they've made so many changes since parachutes. I'm starting to miss the good ol' acoustic guitar and piano, and i'm getting tired of the wierd synths. For example, if you've heard the acoustic version of swallowed in the sea, it beats the actual version of the song by a mile. I just think coldplay should go back to their brothers and sisters/ parachutes days. What are your thoughts?
  24. I just read that each single cover represents a member from the band, which ones represent each member?
