  1. Oh, I meant to say that I got to five of the seven gigs I had tickets for...but yeah, I was lucky. I only could afford the Halloween gig in Washington, DC (Hugely great seats for a steal!) in 2008, one in Raleigh (alone in the pit) and one in Charlotte, NC for the Viva Tour, Summer, 2009, with a surly friend about the middle of the seating chart--I'll never take her to another concert again--, both with Elbow opening. I also love Elbow like crazy! Guy Garvey really made an impression on people who'd never heard him before. Anyway...let's see if I can upload a picture from Nissan Pavilion, Manassas, VA September 2005 and Halloween, Washington, DC Oh just go to flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/corricopat/
  2. http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/iEyQ4HCmiK4/ Here's a nifty Parlophone release of a long interview: lots of good Guy closeups. The good ol' days...I got to five of the seven gigs they played from the April, 2005, Las Vegas opener at the Hard Rock Hotel to the very last concert in Mexico City, March, 2007.
  3. http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/gb4dUlkqPmo/ Bumpity Bump THanks for the link!
  4. What is up here? Great picture...what are the circumstances of the picture?
  5. Viva La Vida Demos I never asked for anything from anybody when I uploaded "Ode to Deodorant" for everyone. Would someone please PM me a link to these files so I can download? I like Mediafire, seems to work well.
  6. Catch me up. What's this about?
  7. Thank you for that picture, I have never seen it! Into my file it goes!
  8. I cood saaahk heez blaaahd! Mmmmmwahaaaahahahaha!
  9. Yes. Could not have said it better. I really wonder about stars who moan and groan about paparazzi. I think of actors and other famous people who get by very fine, thank you very much: Jodie Foster, who leads an alternative life, Mel Gibson's family is invisible, even if he is not (by the way, I actually feel compassion for that poor human being) and unless one is absorbed in it, I have no clue at all about most celebs. If they reeeeeeeally want privacy they can get it. I read books instead with my spare time, create art and attend school (and work when I can find it). I gave up my satellite TV this month. I will regret losing nature programs, but they had dropped serious and current science programs, have dumbed down the educational stuff (history, especially) and what is the point? I can search out what I am interested inon the web. I wish science people would set up a web channel to discuss string theory, you know, Michael Otsuka, Brian Green, Dyson, Weissberg all you sorts, get it on! The WEB! SCREW TV! Sorry, needed to let off steam....have I drifted from th etopic, or WHAT? :shocked2:
  10. Yes, it is shocking when the blinders fall away. I had a partner who was emotionally abusive to me and I was sinking into depression. I went to different cognitive therapists to help me learn to communicate better. But my partner MOCKED me. "It doesn't seemed to have helped you any," was the remark. All the responsibility for success in the relationship was on my shoulders. I should have started making plans to move on that day, but after 20 years together, and because of my nature, i didn't want to give up. But I found I trusted my "friend" less and less, and even grew to dislike being near, couldn't have sex (I couldn't have sex with someone who disrespected me that much). We are apart now after 27 years. I used to think it was all my fault, but now I see how both our character defects played their roles in the situation. I am not angry so much as hurt, devastated, and a bit lost. At my age, it isn't easy to just pick myself up and dust myself off. But I have learned a lot from all of it. I imagine wealthy and famous people must have great difficulty in knowing who they can trust: "Do they want to be around me for ME or for my position/power/fame/privileges/ wealth, etc.?" they must think. If I were rich, I would live very quietly and simply so people wouldn't know about it. I would know then how they really feel. But that will never be an issue for ME!:D
  11. Goody! You found the one I was thinking of! He wears really cool rectangular, crisp black frame eyeglasses sometimes. :glasses2: Nooooo, not quite it: http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/4230/guyberrymantwitterpic.jpg :laugh3: : http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/7868/qawards2008awardsceremo.jpg
  12. Yes I do, but I don't have time right now. Get back to you tomorrow.
  13. :inquisitive: ???? I am not the handbag lady...Joanna Berryman is. She has a little girl from Guy and all I "know" is that she has custody and he has access. I only offered the question of what happened to Guy and Joanna's marriage in the context of our discussing love, privacy, friendship and the interview with Gwyneth Paltrow. Or do you mean Joanna is not "going about yakking "...do you mean, like Gwyneth? Oh email chatting is so open to misunderstandings! As for Lady Margaret, we do not discuss politics on Coldplaying.com. But I will, if you want to try....:wink3::whip::whip::whip::smash::uhoh: :D:huskyhug: WEll, not YOU the earlier posters. Sorry.
  14. http://yfrog.com/5tguyandheragainj It was Joanna. Yes, we "hated " her because this was in the early days of finding out he had a paramour.
  15. \\ Oh, God, Id forgotten about that!!!!:laugh3:
  16. When people have a lot of possibilities available to them because of wealth and privileges, they don't need to depend on one another so much. And I know it is hard to believe, but passion isn't the same thing as love, and I cannot imagine love without friendship and respect. It is those things which can keep a couple together for decades. After all, if your partner falls ill or is injured, such that sex is not a part of the relationship any longer, one may choose to remain a couple under new arrangements. These are reasonably sophisticated young adults with children together. They have a private relationship. And it is a fact that with the first rush of blood to the head settled down, their relationship takes on new dimensions. They may have affairs (I hope not, but you never know), hurt each other, work through it, whatever, but we will not be privy to it. I respect both of them for that. I know next to nothing about what broke up Guy and Joanna, do you?
  17. Smokin' Guy, Manassa, VA 2005 Oh, yes. I have many others, and only just figured out the image shack thing. How great is that service! Guy may since have given up smoking, with his marathon running? These pictures are from September 2005, at Manassas, Virginia. I had been at their X&Y debut performance in April in Las Vegas, Nevada, the first time I had seen them live. I was only three rows from the stage and was floored when I saw Guy walk on stage. I couldn't believe how beautiful he is! I am a portrait artist and just couldn't take my eyes off him! Also, I was overwhelmed by how blue Chris's eyes were. The performance was great except for Chris's snarky attitude toward the audience. He seemed to think there were nothing but old fogey partiers there. I did see a few celebrities (Tony Robbins, Tobey MacGuire, and somebody else I can no longer remember). But Chris didn't realize there were so many hard-core fans there who had spent small fortunes for tickets. We didn't yet know the new songs, of course (only Speed of Sound had been recently released) and so could not sing along with the new stuff. The hall was small and the acoustics not ideal. I was there early and lingered after with my best friend who came with me for the trip. A British fellow asked me what I thought, if I was a fan, etc., and I now realize I was speaking with one of the Coldplay Roadies, because I have since seen him at all the concerts I attended over the subsequent years. I gave him a glowing report, of course, vowing to get to every concert I could afford (I bought tickets to seven, missed one, and finished up the X&Y tour in Mexico City on Chris' birthday, stayed at the Four Seasons there, and even got Chris's Autograph in the lobby there! Chris is much more slender in person and very tall, very bright and handsome, so polite, despite being tired and hoarse from the concert performance he had given. I was so nervous, I said, pretending to be surprised he wa sthere (yeah, right: I just happened to have pene and paper with me) and I said, "Oh, you're Chris Martin, aren't you?" I gushed about his concert and the music, how his band's music had broughgt me back to listening to popular music after a ten year hiatus. "When he aske dme my name for th eautograph, I said"You're Chris Martin" again. "Yes, I know, but what is YOUR name, please?" I know I must have turned as red as a beetm, if I wasn't already blushing...). Oh, and on the way back to my room, I road the elevator with Johnny, who seemed pissed off, standing there with a toothbrush, so I didn't bother him. But he was staying on my floor!!!!:stunned: See a pic of the autograph on Image Shack Let's see if I can manage this. Can somebody tell me which of these works? Thanks, I am still learning. 1. http://img295.imageshack.us/i/sautograph22.jpg/ 2. http://yfrog.com/87sautograph22j 3. By corricopat at 2010-10-28
