  1. Well certainly they cannot reproduce particular sounds on stage (orchestra type stuff and unique studio version sounds). Will sings along with Chris a lot of times too, so your friend may think Chris is singing over a recording. I've seen them live twice now, and Chris has played off-key on the piano and guitar a few times. Also, both times they played Talk, they sounded like they were playing in a different key during the chorus riff. He also varies his tones and lyrics every performance. They ALSO had a month off, so Chris's voice was as rested as it's been in a year for the Seattle show.
  2. I'll have to download some tomorrow then after I add my links. I loved my view for videos, same view as the pictures I posted, obviously. :P
  3. Where abouts in the arena are these videos shot from?
  4. And please keep in mind the little clips I've loaded so far are CRAP compared to the full videos and clearer looking clips. Don't worry, the better clips are on their way. :P
  5. A couple girls behind me had digitals. The only reason I hid mine under my pants was because I was told on the phone by Key Arena customer service that cameras weren't allowed. I didn't wanna take any chances or have to walk back to my car cause I was already running late getting into the arena. I still don't officially know if cameras were allowed or not in Seattle...but people said they brought them in. So I say go for it, but be prepared to take it back to your car if need be.
  6. I've watched my videos at least 10 times apiece now....I've got 25 videos of either clips or entire songs...I should have a few links on my thread by tomorrow.
  7. Me and my sister were in 10 and 11 next to your party then...my sis made you guys stand up for a bathroom break before Coldplay came out.
  8. I think I like #2 better...since I saw it live. Guy was going off on bass on the platform in the video I took. The lyrics are more powerful too. On the CD version, is that Chris doing the backing vocals? Will?
  9. Well, they should be beyond the "studio fights" phase of their careers by now. Sparks is my favorite song, I hope it's not about manly love, lol. Sparks lyrics seem like they're written to a woman.
  10. I can always email it. If you've been to a Coldplay show, purchased a Coldplay CD, or gotten Coldplay merchandise at shows or online, I'm 99% sure some of your money was donated by the band to a charity or free trade cause. Don't think of it as stealing when you've probably invested hundreds of dollars in the band already (albums, tickets, merchandise). My Coldplay Calculator: 3 studio albums = $35 2 tour t-shirts = $70 4 summer 05 tour tickets = $220 2 winter 06 tour tickets = $120 Total = about $500 If they haven't donated at least $5 of my money to charity or free trade, shame on them!
  11. Written by John Barry, performed by Nancy Sinatra. That's the original version from the James Bond movie You Only Live Twice from 1967. I'm only obsessed with all things James Bond... See my website below! As far as the Robbie Williams line goes, I assume Chris said that because Williams had sampled YOLT in one of his own songs and Coldplay decided to dedicate the performance of the song to him.
  12. Anything you guys heard was better than the Seattle setlist. I don't know if they played all of Trouble in the Vancouver shows or not? They played half of Trouble and The Hardest Part...we didn't get Don't Panic, we didn't get Swallowed In The Sea, we didn't get Parachutes. Though at White River in the summer we got Don't Panic, Swallowed In The Sea, AND A Rush Of Blood To The Head (first time they had played it live in 2 years). What I think they are doing is reviewing the setlists from last summer and reserving about 2 or 3 slots to play songs they didn't play last time. And if they didn't play in your city last summer and are playing 2 shows now, they will do one set with a couple songs, and the other set replacing those songs the next night.
  13. Thanks everybody...this concert was the main reason I wanted a digital camera for Christmas. I'm so glad they turned out this well.
  14. Thankfully I bought a 1GB memory card a couple weeks ago, cause the 32MB one that came with the camera wouldn't have cut it for videos!
  15. FINAL UPDATE: All links now up! And all clips vary in length, filesize, and picture clarity. Sound quality is very good. 16. Though this wasn't what they played in Seattle, this was my dream setlist: 1. Square One 2. Politik 3. Yellow 4. God Put a Smile Upon Your Face 5. Speed of Sound 6. Green Eyes 7. The Scientist 8. How You See The World 9. Talk 10. Till Kingdom Come (acoustic) 11. A Message (acoustic) 12. Sparks (acoustic) 13. X&Y 14. Clocks 15. Amsterdam 16. What If 17. Swallowed In The Sea 18. Fix You
  17. I had sat in 214, row 6 for the Foo Fighters/Weezer show in October...and the view was amazing, so I didn't even bother with floor seats or 100 level where I knew I'd have to stand with people in my way. I got 214, row 3 for the Seattle show and only had 4 people sitting in front of me. It gave me great views for full stage or zoomed pictures and videos. The only tough part is trying to keep my camera steady to record while trying to look up and enjoy the concert....because at times I was watching the show through the viewfinder and didn't pay attention to the actual band with my own eyes. But since the show was pretty much the same as White River, I was able to predict when to take the best pictures and when to start recording. I just need to figure out how to extract the audio from the videos so I can have mp3s from the show.
  18. chetdesmond, what seat?
  19. Making a "Fonzy from Happy Days" pose with a homeless tuba player who wears a Finding Nemo hat? Priceless.
  20. No problem. Most all of my videos are 20, 50, 70, and 120 MB, which would be a pain in the ass to split into 10 or 20 files apiece. *Watches the video recording of Fix You* It choked me up last night...and straight men aren't supposed to be this moved by a performance!
  21. It was predictable...and 1 song shorter than last summer. From the White River show, they replaced A Rush Of Blood, Low, Don't Panic, and Swallowed In The Sea with X&Y, How You See The World, half of Trouble, and The Hardest Part. They could have done all of Trouble AND Don't Panic during their acoustic section last night. I think we all got spoiled at White River to be honest! White River was my first concert period, so I don't know if this show could have topped that night but it was close and still lots of fun. It just seemed like it was over too quickly. I still say Politik is their best song live...the energy they put into the ending was insane. I loved "They put a Starbuck's on the corner of every fucking place". I was probably the ONLY person in my area singing along to How You See The World...just shows how many casual fans I was surrounded by, but I showed I was a true fan during that song! I also liked when Chris said "A great American...George W., I mean Johnny Cash!" It was priceless, espeically in Seattle where we lean left in politics. He mentioned the Seahawks and Superbowl a lot, which was awesome. I really liked the variation in his tone of voice during Fix You. And "Do you know where I can get a decent cup of coffee around here?", haha...only EVERYWHERE! I got WAYYYYYY better pictures than the summer since I was using a film camera last time and a digital camera this time. And I have VIDEOS to watch forever and relive the night!! In a way we should be glad Seattle was the start of the tour because they had a month's worth of energy built up from Christmas break, and Chris's vocals were in the best condition they're going to be in all tour. On the down side, we'll miss out on any particular changes they decide to make during the tour. It's weird that my tickets were $7 more for Key Arena than White River. But we also had to sit through Black Mountain, so that's probably why they were $7 less in the summer.
  22. Well, guys can get away with an extra bulge in their pants!
  23. "They put a Starbucks on the corner of every fucking place!" "This is the section of the show we pay homage to a great American....George W...I mean Johnny Cash" "Do you know where I could get a good cup of coffee around here?" "It took us like 7 years to get out of there" (about White River traffic) and "We're the only band in the world who cares about your traffic problems" And many mentions of our Seahawks and the Superbowl! :D
  24. I smuggled in my Christmas present...Canon A620 7 megapixels w/video recording. I went to a public restroom outside the arena and put the camera between my boxers and jeans and slipped my belt through the camera string and let it dangle under my pants. Got through security just fine and took the camera out in a restroom near my seat. The following 15 pictures were the ones that turned out the best. I also have 800+ MB worth of videos...which is about 45 minutes. I have full (or almost completely full) video versions of: Square One, X&Y, How You See The World, The Scientist, Til Kingdom Come, Ring Of Fire, Trouble, The Hardest Part, In My Place, Fix You And I have video clips (between 30 seconds and 2 minutes) of: Politik, Yellow (Chris blasting 2 ballons on stage, haha), Speed Of Sound, White Shadows, Clocks With the right camera, 200 level pictures don't have to look so bad.
