queue before concert?
Oh, yeah. I've done it before :p Depends on the venue, but in the UK, it's mostly indoors. Apart from the knock-off guys outside...

queue before concert?
Yeah, I think so. But as mentioned before, the queues will be pretty busy - normally all the people that weren't sure whether to get one beforehand, didn't, and then changed their mind during the show.

queue before concert?
Or getting a gorgeous, not-at-all-overpiced t-shirt ;) I've had more success at smaller shows. but lately, my friend doesn't seem to want to do the barrier lately :(

Is there some way to show Coldplay our disappreciation of all seating?
That's fair enough. You get out of a gig what you want to get out of it. We're all different, and we all look at it in different ways. If you don't want to sit, that's fine. It's a shame you won't get to see them now though. I think a lot of the problem will be that the promoters, or whoever's organised the arrangements will just see 'sold out' next to the gigs and not think anything else of it. It'd be nice to think that 'us normal people' would be listened to.

tour tickets
The other alternative is to go to the venue and buy them from the box office if they're selling from there.

Apparently not. It'd be nice if it was all about the discussion tbh.

PLEASE HELPPP!!! WHY ARE THERE NO STANDING TICKETS FOR COLDPLAY ON SALE????
This is what I'm thinking. I know that they've done all seater shows over in the states, but it's not particularly the norm over here, which makes me wonder. Well no, I would have stood if there had been standing tickets. I've pretty much always stood, though not every single time I've been to a gig. I've got seated tickets because I wanted to go, and I don't really care all that much because I'm going to see Coldplay and that's always good.

queue before concert?
Think the longest I've ever queued was 6 hours. Worked well :D

We, the undersigned, object to the UK tour "no fans' pre-sale", "no standing" policy!
That is wrong on so many levels

So you weren't including me in 'their' then first of all? Look. All I'm taking exception to is your tone. That's all on this one now.

PLEASE HELPPP!!! WHY ARE THERE NO STANDING TICKETS FOR COLDPLAY ON SALE????
Heh, heh. Sorry. My memory isn't what it used to be, and I haven't watched Family Guy in ages :p I think I put that avatar up not long after I joined and haven't been bothered to change it yet. Don't worry about it anyway, it's not problem :D Yeah, in general, I'm not really debating that people should have to sit and like it. I'm as confused as anyone about the seating thing - it's seems strange enough for me to wonder that there's some real reason for it, other than, we just want everyone to sit. I think until the people who's decision it was comes out and tells us why, then it's a bit of a mute debate. I've never sat down at a Coldplay gig, and I don't have the best seats this time, but that's not going to stop me from enjoying myself (except if anyone stands on their chair in front of me, expect to be pushed right off :p ) Also an unfortunate point is that nothing that anyone here says will make any difference this time due to the fact that the sales have already taken place. And yeah, Pulse was a sit down tour, but it was a bit more sedate :p

Actually, thinking about it. We don't know why it's been done. Surely it would be a good idea to try and find out why it's been done, then you'll all know who to complain to.

My pedestal is very comfortable, thank you. I don't disagree that people maybe should have the choice. The point is a valid point. People are unhappy that they haven't the option - fair enough. As I said at the beginning of the post, unfortunately, the choice was made by other people not to give us a choice. What I take exception to is people telling me that I should 'get it through my head' that I am wrong because one person has said so. Just because that person thinks that sitting at the side is the worst place ever, doesn't meant that everyone else does, or should believe the same. That's the point of a forum. We discuss. We don't dictate. There are people on this board, unhappy at the situation, who are being a lot more polite and eloquent about it. If people take exception to me, then maybe they should tone down their own responses before I should be expected to do the same. But tell me this. Why SHOULD there have been an option for standing? Not why you want one, but why there should be one.

How did everyone get on this morning?
I may have 2 spare tickets as well, but I'd never dream of selling them on for profit. On another band board that I go on, a big group of us got together for the last tour and kind of allocated dates to people, and bought out the maximums for the dates, so that we could all get the tickets we wanted, and any spare, we passed on to people on the board that had been unlucky. It worked pretty well.

There was a choice. Unfortunately, it wasn't ours, it was made long before we got involced. I'm sorry, I didn't realise that all my thoughts and opinions should match up with yours. Obviously I was absent when life's intructions were read out. Do you realise this is a contradictory sentence. You're only equal if you turn up before everyone else? So if my train was late, should I then get all ranty about my equal chance to get to the front? Ah, now I see. I must bow to the fact that you are the only person to have been to a gig before.

Noooo... :p Fix You is dull (opens up floodgates for disagrements :p ) I don't mean dull, but it just got so overhyped I got a bit sick of it. I agree, it'll probably be the last song, but I'm just not a fan of it. They should open with a song from the new one.

See, I'd be quite happy to keep Square One (but not as an opener), and drop Fix You, because I was never all that taken with it in the first place. Clocks is ok, but they should drop it and bring Daylight back in. Shiver back please, and Spies. What I really want in there is Rush Of Blood because it's awesome. Politik was always the best opener, so that should come back to the start of the show as well. Hark at me being a setlist guru :D

How did everyone get on this morning?
Yeah, we were at Stafford as well. That really was a beautiful day, apart from a bit of rain when the Foo Fighters were on. Think they were on after Placebo if I remember. Really enjoyed that one. The thing is, they know that there are people out there who are either really desperate, really stupid, or have too much money for their own good. Until people stop using them altogether , they're not going to go away.

2001 I saw them at V festival when Chris climbed the side of the stage :p The best one though was when we saw them at Bath Pavillion the week before Glasto in 2002. Chris was going on about how it was the sort of place where he should have been holding a raffle :D

2-Dec-08 - Birmingham, NIA - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Depends. From what my friend's told me who's been there before, it's not a huge place, so you're not going to be too far away. If it is on that side (I'm still trying to find a decent plan), well, it's not a bad view, just up a bit. The difference in price is only about a fiver - I'd stick with it. A cheaper ticket could put you at the back on the floor where you won't have so good a view.

That's near to me - as I see it, it's Block J (floor), Row M, seats 8 and 9.
