Well, a better question would be: what brings me to england? I'm going to see my (ex)bf. Though i was going to go alone, but now the whole family tagged along (good thing coz i'm not paying for most of the trip) and we are spending 5 days in london for xmas, 5 in paris for new years and then i spend a week in Plymouth with my (ex)bf. :love:

I'm good... a little sick, busy and i pulled a muscle on my arm... but i'm good anyways... just keep concentrating that in 31 days I'm gonna be in London :laugh4:

haha, funny thing, my tattoo has to do with that... it says: "Time is on you side" (yes, i know, 'Amsterdam', Rolling Stones, well aware of that... :dozey: ) But i chose that sentence exactely because of that feeling. Sometimes it feels like because time is passing so fast people are trying to run against it, or think that death is coming closer (like you said0, but imo it could be quite the opposite. What if instead of thinking that your time is coming to an end, you start thinking that you're learning more with this time passing, experiencing more things, just living one day after the other. Some things actually need time to get solved (broken hearts, unresolved fights, etc), and I think what you have to learn is not how to try and fight time or delay it, it's just live all your moments fully, and sucking up the most you can from each experience. i dunno... maybe thats just my point of view...

Charles, as I thought, you would be the one that would comprehend better what I'm saying, since you also live in south america. The situation here is not of 'normal' violence. People are violent for the silliest reasons (e.g: a mobile). A good example of how much the violence makes people stay in is that we have a beautiful seafront sidewalk for people to run, jog or just walk around and apreciate the view... well, needless to say that after 10 it's very rare to see anyone walking around there, actually, to see anyone walking on the streets at all. people are too scared of being robbed. And the problem with being robbed here today is that not only the guy can take your mobile, wallet or whatever you have on you, but if he isn't in a good mood or whatever, he might just shoot you and go away without anyone ever catching him...

I know I never post any threads around here, but today something happened that made me want to. This guy, a friend of mine, not a close friend, I studied with him 2 years in school, but still the kind of person that sends you Happy birthday messages and that you stop to say hello when you see socially. He was playing tennis with his brother last night, and they left their wallets and mobiles on a bench on the side of the court, and some marginals came and took it. So they went after the guys and one of them shot my friend on his forehead. Yes, he passed away at 02:30am this morning. It just made me think, how fragile are our lives?? Can you imagine the pain of a mother that finds out that her 21 year old son has died? And this boy's brother, family, girlfriend, his friends. This makes me think that we are living in a world where the only 'safe' place to be is locked inside your house, where bad things can't happen to you. That everytime you step out on the streets you have to be afraid of being robbed, rapped, killed. People don't even have to have a good reason to kill now. They just do. They take a gun, shoot you on the head because they wanted a freaking mobile... it's just wrong. I don't know if everywhere is like Brazil. But here that's the reality we are living in. It's a reality of fear and violence everywhere you look. He didnt live in a ghetto, where violence is more frquent. He wasn't a rich spoiled kid that messed up with the wrong crowd. He was a regular guy, who was playing tennis with his brother at 7:30pm on a sunday night. The guys didn't go after him, they were after anyone... And I'm not writing here to get the condolences, since i wasnt really close to him. I just wanted to know what do you guys think of this stupid violence that makes us lived scared inside our houses. (maybe some of you won't relate to this, specially the people in developed European countries...) I'm sorry if there's another similar topic... I'm just really in shock with this situation.

I don't know why, but i didnt vote for England... and I shouldve... my (semi)boyfriend is from there... but I dunno... there are too many countries full with hot ppl... it's hard to choose 1!
