  1. Duffy comes on promptly at 8pm and does about a 30 min set. The boys come on around 9:15-ish.
  2. I loved it two. Getting themselves pumped to meet their crowd. Very cool.
  3. Christy and Ed were in the exact same seats Gwyneth and Blythe were in last night. On Guy's side midway down the catwalk about 7 rows up. I could see them all night long. She was pretty into it. You could tell he likes the band but was more reserved. And yes, I forgot about the Jonas Brothers part. When Chris introduced The Scientist, he kept saying it was a Jonas Brothers song. Then the ganga comment.
  4. And Cooky Mnstr, not sure which one you are, but from my vantage point, I only saw one sign and yes, Chris looked right at it and spoke to that person. I'm assuming that was YOU!!! Congrats!!!! As some read, I saw Phil last night and spoke to him, but I did not see him tonight even though I could see everyone that walked in and out of the back area. That's how I saw Christy Turlington and Ed Burns.
  5. Just got home and read what everyone else had to say so here goes... I was there last night to and sorry to the Sunday night crowd, but tonight was a FAR better vibe. I wouldn't say the guys played any better, but the place just erupted much more often and louder right from the start. Highlights: Chris played Reign of Love "dreaming....of the Barak Obama sun...." He dedicated The Hardest Part to Jennifer Hudson. Unbelievably wonderful of him When he was in the upper section before the Scientist, Chris said, "I think I smell a bit of the ganga up here". It was hilarious! He said he didn't think it was legal under the Bush administration but we'll see what happens when McCain or Obama is elected. The Hardest Part was better tonight, or maybe my seat was better, but it was really nice and so was the piano piece after it (can't remember the name) No Gwyneth tonight. Instead Christy Turlington and Ed Burns I agree with Roadie 42, Yellow has a new life to it and it shows. The guys seem to love it all over again. My seats were sick! I was right by Guy's side of the stage, just at the top of his ramp, first row. I had a bird's eye view of Guy the whole night and well, a lot of Chris because he tends to favor that side in these latest shows. Chris and Guy would genuinly look into the crowd at faces. I was screaming "hi Chris" "hi Guy" at the top of my lungs and waving! It's incredible to see the guys up that close while they perform, especially Chris. I could also see right down into the roadie pit. I saw all the usual suspects and saw the guy's guitars up close while they were being put away in the cases after each song was over. I got several pictures I will try to upload tomorrow. And at the very end, that sweet older roadie that looks a bit like Jerry Garcia gave me a set list AND a stinking pick, right off one of the guitars!!!!!!!!! Amazing night! I couldn't love the guys any more. Their music ignites me, inspires me and just plain makes me happy!
  6. you guys are a trip! trust me, when he leaned to ask the question, I couldn't believe it. It felt like one of those prank tv shows because i had already been staring at him. what a cutie!
  7. You'll be fine. They hardly check. Just don't keep it in plain view.
  8. Sorry to be a total loser, but can you please be more specific?
  9. Extremely cute. Total baby face. And just seemed super sweet even in those brief moments. I can't believe I actually heard his voice. I really wish I had the you-know-what to strike up a conversation with him, but alas, I'm a chicken.....
  10. i just forwarded the photo from my phone to my email. now what? it's kinda blurry because i was too afraid he would see me taking the picture so i did it quickly and probably pulled the camera away too fast, but you can totally tell it's him. aw....phil....
  11. Thanks for posting Jenjie. Cooky Mnstr just told me I should post my siting here so I came over to do it. You guys work fast. :) I have a picture on my phone too but not sure how to upload it.
  12. I know, though I don't post often I've been on this site for a while and it makes my insanity seem like sanity. Everyone in my life thinks I'm a total nut. Oh, good idea about posting my story there. Phil is smokin!
  13. CookyMnstr, yes, I was so stinking excited about talking to Phil so thanks for being excited with me. When i told my husband and friends, I got a rousing sound of crickets. NO ONE UNDERSTANDS BUT YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
  14. I'm a little slow on the uptake of reviews so I won't post a review since most of it's been said, but I will say that I TALKED TO PHIL LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got to my section just after Duffy ended and I was sitting there taking it all in when all the sudden I see Phil on the steps in my aisle, right next to me. I'm like, "holy shit, that's Phil". I'm too shy to say hello to him so I was just staring. He was looking out over the section and the next think i know, he leans in to me (yikes!) and says, "is this section 120?" I said, "yes, it is" and he smiled and looked right at me and said, "thanks very much". Ok, so I didn't have a conversation about he and Chris and their childhood shenanigans, but I STILL spoke to him. :) he kept returning to the section looking around. Then right before the show, I saw him with two men i did not recognize and he brought them to their seats and shook their hands. Obviously he was looking for these guys the whole time. Then he went all the way down to the stage and jumped over the barrier and went backstage. Super cool. Gwyneth was also in my section. When she and her mom went to their seats my whole section started taking pictures. I had a bird's eye view of her the whole time and she was rocking out like everyone else. Blythe was also doing a little booty shakin! lol! Gwyn especially seemed to enjoy when the lights would come up and the crowd was singing along. She kept looking out over the crowd almost in awe. Must be surreal for her! Anyway, the boys were in amazing form last night. Chris was fantasitc and I have to say I just LOVED all the extra piano stuff he did. It shows how far ranging his talent is and I appreciated it so much. And while I'm not a huge fan of The Hardest Part, last night it took on a new meaning. With just Chris and the piano, it sounded like quite a lovely song and it was sweet that he said he likes playing it. Overall a fantastic night and I can't wait to see them again tonight!!!!!
  15. Gotta say, the first one was a little boring until the end. Loved the end. The second one is just a bit strange to me. I'm a huge fan of Chris, but just him until the end doesn't sit well. I guess it works for the words in the song, but i dunno. again, i really love chris, but he just looks a bit silly. i guess maybe that was the point?
  16. The setlist was posted a page back. Take a look. Those pics are great Ian. Thanks! Chris looking more animated than ever these days. And I can't wait to hear what the Perv Unit has to say about the Chris kneeling next to Jonny pic. Easy everyone. Did Chris actually have something to do with putting this festival together? Did I read that correctly?
  17. Uh, easy there kmm1482. Why all the hostility? I am from the New York area and know many lovely people here. I even met a few New York Coldplay fans at the Today Show and they were all really very nice. So, take it easy, please. I must agree though that most critics in this town seem very jaded on the band. As I was reading the article, I was like, "oh, boy is he shitting on the band". And then at the end I was like, "wait, he likes them?" So confusing. It's weird because obviously SO many people love the band, but so many really dislike them. It's a shame they don't really get the band or Chris even. He'll never live down the fact that he mentioned that the MSG show was free. And I know we all realize Chris was being Chris and not trying to shove it in anyone's face they they fronted the money to do that show. I took it to mean that he was saying, if you don't like the show, who cares, it was free. As for the lack of enthusiasm for the crowd at MSG, I can not comment because I was unable to get tickets. So for those that were there, was the crowd lacking? If so, maybe it was because they gave away so many tickets to radio stations and the winners went to the show because it was free and they really like the song Yellow. Meanwhile, I'm sitting at home so sad and pissed off that this true fan couldn't get tickets. Perhaps that's why, if it was a shit crowd, it was a shit crowd.
  18. Seems I have two long in names. I was posting last night after the show as ccg, but the name I always use here is ccsg. Oops.
  19. Where's the video of the "exchange fo words" between Chris and Guy. I saw the vid of the new song and then trasitioning into Green Eyes. It looks like Guy goes towards the front of the stage with his bass and then realizes that is wrong, puts it on it's stand and then walks off stage. It just looked like he thought it was going to be one song and then realized it was Green Eyes and he wasn't needed for that, so he left the stage. But where is the other vid you guys are talking about? Mel, congrats! great night for you indeed!
  20. The picture on page 197 with Chris, Gwyn with very long hair and Apple and Apple's back is to us was in 2006 when the guys were on tour and that was taken by a normal person. They were at an aquarium or something like that in Texas. Madonna's little David is in that stoller behind Apple.
  21. That version of Green Eyes is beautiful. He did some cool things with it. And Chris has some new moves I see in the Lost video. Wow, he looks a bit crazy at one point. Had me laughing. I am glad he is using his freedom of expression. It's taken him all these years probably to be able to dance as he wants on stage, so I say "dance like a crazy person Chris. Go for it!"
  22. I don't think I've ever seen him look more tired. Wow. From listening to the interview, I think he likes Seacrest. He didn't give to many "false" answers and it was a fairly normal conversation. I loved it when the woman said she loved his accent and then Seacrest asked what kind it was, Chris was SO quick to reply, "it's French". I'm not sure why but I thought that was SO funny.
  23. “Welcome to the first night of our tour since we became the new version of our band,” Martin remarked halfway in. I find this quote so interesting. This must be why they are focusing on new music during the tour and really just the standouts from previous records, IMO.
  24. There is a video. Look back a couple of pages where all those vids are. It's there.
