CHRIS, WHAT DO YOU MEAN ?
What are the birds ? Yes I like SLEEPING SUN, yes I also have trouble with it. My -wild- guess did not take me very far, but is as follows: CLIMB UP YOUR MOUNTAIN - used by Chris in other songs, refers to someone having to learn to live their own life, overcome their own fears / obstacles, follow their path. NINETEEN AND COUNTING - the age of the guy he's talking to ? YOU HAVE GOT SEVEN - lives maybe, like cats have 7. I HAVE GOT ONE - same as above. BLINDED AND HURTING THIS I'M DESERVING I'VE GOT MY SECRETS - he has lived already, has been hurt, might be paying for past mistakes. YOU ONLY GOT THE SLEEPING SUN - sleeping sun could mean something ready to dawn, so someone could be in waiting to "wake up" to life, or emotionally - could also refer to the winter, for all I know... Am I boring you ? :snore: just tell me and I'll pxxx off ;) Earls court +32 days ! :bigcry: CFU

How many albums will Coldplay have done before it's over ?
Whatever happens I just hope they won't do a Rolling Stones thing. When it's over it's over and I shall be very sad that day... It is a strange thing to read about a Chris Martin solo album. I really wonder what it would sound like - I mean if he was on his own and could do whatever pleased him ? My guess is they will do 6 more albums. The question is (no offence to anyone here) will everyone follow their new directions ?

CHRIS, WHAT DO YOU MEAN ?
Thanks for your post, I have been on songmeanings.net, quite a strange place really. I guess I was hoping here I would find views of fans more relevant and "accurate" due to the fact everyone here knows the band's personality so well. It looks like no one is really interested around here - so I will just go on posting around but keep my interest for all things written to myself...never mind the bxxx as they say ! Peace and Love :)

Hi, Salut and Hallo aus England
Thanks :) been on the link to have a look. There are some truly wacky things on there - I still haven't made up my mind though, but made some sort of progress. Amazing how this album still feels fresh after so many listenings...

U2
Hi, I am happy to see U2 appreciated here. I love Coldplay but Bono and his crew have rocked my world since the eighties and have never ever weakened. They are the only band in the world to have achived such consistency over such long time without EVER deriving or following fashions. Fashions come and go, these guys are just made of solid rock. They are wholesome, honest and true, and still enjoy what they are doing. I can't believe I have NEVER seen them live !? Something has gone wrong for me, somewhere...

CHRIS, WHAT DO YOU MEAN ?
Hi, I am new here so don't think I want to impose myself or anything, but as a long time fan I am in love with the music, but also an avid reader of the songs' lyrics. I have been wondering about some songs for years as it can be quite difficult to interpret the meaning a singer / band puts into a piece without your own views comming in to distort what was originally intended. To cut short and stop waffling all over, I am looking for some friends to share views on our fav' Coldplay lyrics. Is this the place ? What do you make of Speed Of Sound, for instance. I know it has been played over and over everywhere but I have never ever heard / seen anyone discussing it in that way. Is it a song on Mankind ? on Chris's own fears and doubts ? What are the birds ? I have had so many wild theories passing through my head about this song that Chris would probably wet himself laughing if he knew - I feel a tad silly sometimes. Come and play with me !! Earls Court 15/12/05, when my disease became officially uncurable after a very very long incubating period. Doctor, I am doomed...! Yes, your only chance of survival is a fix of live Coldplay on a regular basis. I am afraid this is not available on the NHS either, so you might have to take private insurance to cover the costs.

Hi, Salut and Hallo aus England
Hi everyone, I am a half french half german guy living in the UK. Have been a Coldplay fan for a (long) while but only just registered here. I am looking for a place to discuss lyrics, I have been wondering about the meaning of some of the songs for a while. Some are really obvious but for instance I have been reading Speed Of Sound for a while !? Love you all. PS: Earls Court rocked last night!
