Yeah I can't make my mind up if the MiB is the smoke monster or if it is just his helper. When you look in the temple you see Anubis and then you see him summoning the smoke monster, as if it were his helper or something, but then there are situations where it would completely make sense that he is also the smoke monster. I'm sure we'll find out anyway. Also with reference to different cultures being there, one of the flashes took them to a time WAY into the past where they were attacked by natives with flaming bow and arrows, this is a time that hasn't been touched on since, I think we are supposed to believe that a few different cultures have used the island and who knows how long the "others" were actually there, different generations of them. I still think it's just more of a reference to Chemmis, than it actually being Chemmis, just like I don't think MiB is actually Anubis etc. JJ doesn't write though, he's pretty much had no involvement since early season 1. Damon Lindelof writes and he also did Star Trek ;)

Well no it's still good, there's a lot of Asuka-Shinji stuff again, actually the ending is hilarious, one of the best comedy moments in the series. I really like the one after that though, the 3 of them have to work together for the first time. I don't think I could pic a favourite, from about episode 16 or so onwards, it's all amazing.

Wow, I had genuinely never heard of Chemmis, that's amazing. I think it's probably just a reference to all the Egyptian mythology on the island, rather than it completely following the story of Chemmis. Yeah there are people who just think that after the intro persiod it should skip to near the end and that the rest is filler, I completely disagree though, so much character development happens and that is what EVA is best at imo. I think they find the idea of "Dance Like You Want To Win" ridiculous as well, their loss. What are you, stupid!?

Aaron, you know that last episode you watched gets a lot of hatred from EVA fans, I think it's awesome though, I laughed throughout and it had lots of hints about the complexity of Asuka and Shinji's relationship
