If Jin hadn't told her he was lying then she would have gone mental. You can't talk about one thing, see the persons reaction and then go "LOL I WAS LYING" he timed it right to say he just wanted to spare the other guys life. That last sentence is hilarious. I've seen that before, things like that are stupid, you can twist a lot of things to make them sound like they are copying others, it has a similar theme and general things happen that tbh happen in most films, not exclusive to Pocahantas. It's incredibly forced and it only works becuase of the way he's worded the initial writing.
