  1. It's always fun when Cat Stevens voices his opinions, especially when he calls for an author to be murdered. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bD9w3rU5McA]YouTube - Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens "jokes" about Salman Rushdie Burning?[/ame] Rarrrrrrrr. Silly man.
  2. Woah! How surreal! I was just thinking the 2+2=5 thing as he said it! How rare!
  3. I'd forgotten how very funny and generally likeable Will is.
  4. That's not really how Radio 4 works. It doesn't need to generate interest. I can't see them ever performing a publicity stunt. It wasn't a cynical calculated stunt. I'm not sure why Chris went straight to "you're just journalistically twisting what I said" which soured the rest of the interview - perhaps the sexist thing did it. It was a bit harsh, but not unfair - it was (just about) a sexist remark. I do think the choice of music - lots of bits with death references - was a bit one-sided, but I suppose that - given the topic of mortality in his lyrics - it was relevent. I agree with that. Whether it was intentional or not, it wasn't a very good start to the interview. Anway... I've rewritten this a couple of times and I'm tired, but I think it makes sence.
  5. There's maybe a little bit of You and Whose Army? in there. Not sure that it's their most Radioheaddy song though, when you've got the whole of parachutes to draw Radiohead comparisons with.
  6. sound!
  7. I hope this starts soonish! I need to sleep!
  8. Sorry to hear that caru_politik. If it comes to it you could always regegister and pay £0.00
  9. I think i'm a bit behind you. I'm not too sure about that 'pwaaaaaaoooi' noise in All I Need yet. Piano kicking in.
  10. I'm on nude too. I can't think of a way they could have improved it.
  11. I misread 'black sheep' as 'black swan' and was about to leap to its defence. I agree though, alot of people really loved that song, which is fair enough. I still prefer the studio version.
  12. I've listened through a good 4 or 5 times throughout the day. I definately agree with amsterdam528 about multiple listens, especially if you're familiar with the live versions. My initial reactions to 15 Step and Bodysnatchers were "uurgh?" then "aaah!" Nude and Arpeggi were pretty much perfect. I missed the piano in All I need at the start, but i'm growing to like it how it is. The ending's still one of the best peices of sound anyone's ever created. Faust Arp I had no expectations of, and is a nice little song. Reckoner... I kept willing the guitars and 'reckoner, pah pah pah!' to start, it's very different. Not sure which one I like more. I can't really make out the words in the new 'un, which is a petty as they're some of my favourite lyrics. I miss the thumping from House of Cards but it's fantastic nonetheless. Jigsaw falling into place (I never liked the name 'open pick') is wonderful. Far superior to the live version. I am not disappointed in Videotape, I prefer it to all of the live versions. Except maybe the from the basement one. Maybe. Fantastic album.
  13. Hopefully midnight, or I'll be very tired tomorrow.
  14. I love everything about them. I'm all excited. wheee!
  15. No Hodiau Direkton until September!?
  16. They're bluetits. Or some other variety of 'tit'.
  17. Sorry about that, hard to tell what someone means in sometimes when it's in writing. :wink2: Anyway, I totally agree with
  18. I love how they played my absolute favourite part of the DVD as the video snippet of the DVD. The new site rocks.
  19. Ok, Shuh-tit now you pair of fools! Ach, I'm rubbish at this.
  20. I don't think this means they're rejected. Arpeggi's agreed by most to be one of the strongest of the new tracks. Bangers 'n' mash and open pick get kind of polar reactions though. DITNU is a favourite of mine. Assumiing I understood you correctly... According to http://www.citizeninsane.eu/cuttingroom which is fast becoming one of my favourite websites, the new song could be 'A Pig's Ear' as apparently you can hear the start of 'you made' sung at one point, which features in one of Thom's scrapbook lyric pages under that title, and 'A Pig's Ear' appears on one of those blackboard pictures of new songs. I'm not sure i believe this really, as it's pretty hard to tell what's said, and 'you made...' could appear in any number of songs, but I thought it was interesting. Anyway, I have excitement coming out of my eyes.
  21. :laugh3: :laugh3: Is Jonny really wearing lace?
  22. It's a fantastic song. It's just not a fast one. I'd say it's easily the best from Kid A, one of the best songs ever. When the last chorus starts after the '...and huuuricanes' you have to be pretty odd to not feel moved. The canal+ version is perfect.
