Don't Panic does sound very different, it's strange and cool. Also, Such a Rush is quickly becoming one of my favorite songs--I think Chris sounds very sexy on it!

I have read all the Coldplay books. DO keep Look at the Stars! It is comprehensive, I sometimes re-read bits out of it just for the heck of it. Roadie is Matt's story only, there is little (IMO) of the real goings on of the band.

I've been listening to Chris' songs all morning, the sound on the album seems so much better than on my TV last week. The guitar in LMR is particularly striking.

Was so happy that all three of Chris' songs made it to the album, I bought it last night!

This is very true! I always get a chuckle when people say he makes a big deal being married to Gwyneth, which, of course we know he never does!

From what I read around the internet (from non CP people!) is that he was one of the highlights.

I don't know how much rehearsal time Chris had with Michael, for one thing. Michael has been singing that song for a very long time, and I feel his voice cracked a couple of times. No one on the bill sang perfectly, except for maybe Eddie Vedder (IMO). Chris was nervous, his nerves get him on big occasions and whenever he doesn't have the other band members with him. I still feel that he did a great job and I am glad he was there.

Now on the other hand I think Adam Sandler was dressed like a slob, like he couldn't be bothered to even wear something that didn't look like he slept in it the night before. Is that more appropriate to wear to a charity function than a suit? A grubby tee shirt and jeans?

Wow, wholeheartedly disagree.

He wasn't there to sell his album, to sell the MX theme, so the MX outfit would have been inappropriate. I am biased, I am a fan of the suit. Everyone here who said the suit was appropriate and fitting to the event was spot on. I hate it when people underdress for occasions (even though Chris has done that in the past!)
