[1-Jul-2014] Royal Albert Hall, London, UK
What a special show that was :) Only managed to get circle 'restricted view' tickets but was incredibly lucky and got upgraded at the gig to second row arena floor! I took some amazing videos, don't think I've ever been so close to the band. If you're looking for good quality clips from the front row of this gig, look no further: Oh and to add to the list of celebrities present, I bumped into Russell Howard after the gig! Picked up a couple of handfuls of confetti as well if anyone is after some..

Whats the difference?
I've replaced my album version with this version. Although it's not too much of a noticeable alteration, it's just enough to breathe some life back into this much-overplayed favourite of mine :)

15-Dec-08 - London, O2 Arena - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
My ticket arrived this morning. I'm not happy. Block 105, row Q, seat 155. Right at the bloody back. Oh well, at least it's not at the top.. can anyone tell me what the stage setup is like? I've not been following too closely, but I've heard of all these side stages and b-stages and whatnot.. are any of them near the back, say... next to block 105? ;)

PLEASE HELPPP!!! WHY ARE THERE NO STANDING TICKETS FOR COLDPLAY ON SALE????
I'm fairly certain it's a cock-up. Either Coldplay have decided that they're going to completely change every venue on this new tour by installing hundreds of floor seats at each venue.. or there's been a minor error on the parts of the ticket retailers. I reckon there'll be an announcement made soon that will confirm that "floor seating" is not sitting on the floor, but 'general admission standing' like it normally is. Don't Panic! :)

Ask Chris Martin A Question
Whose decision is it to play exactly the same setlist every night? or Why did you never release the best version of Talk? Oh brother.

Earl's Court 16th December - Official Thread
Bishy, Out of the 20,000 people that were there that night, our paths cross again. Small world eh? Glad you like the pictures... they're some of my best. Where did you guys end up? Nettie, YAY! What did you write on the beachball? Just your name? Which one did you get? The one with all the lyrics on or the one with just "I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war..." on?? I guess you have a point about the way they play. I've gotta say that despite seeing In My Place live 4 times this year, I've enjoyed every time. Just being in a crowd that large all singing the YEAAAAHH part.. aah, c'est incredible. Don't mention b-sides in regards to setlists because it'll just make me sad. Unfortunately once a band get as large as Coldplay are they stop playing varied setlists and just stick to the singles. :( Wonder if we could start a fan campaign to get Coldplay to play a gig somewhere where they play a fan requested setlist...

Earl's Court 16th December - Official Thread
The main reason I'm making this post is to show off my mighty impressive photos, the best of which can be found here: http://www.danieltuffen.com/images/Gigs/Coldplay%2016.12.05%20London/ (Take a look, even if you only click on one, trust me..they're worth it ;)) Richard Ashcroft was good, wasn't he? I really enjoyed singing along to Lucky Man, Drugs Don't Work and Bittersweet (For the second time this year!) Gotta agree with Majson with regards to the setlist though. I mean come on.. this was (as Chris kept saying) the FINAL Coldplay gig in London for ages. And yet they gave us the same stale old setlist they've played every night, in every country since the tour began? (Excluding X&Y which is a poor track anyway, and How You See The World v2 which nobody knew!) They could have thrown Daylight, Hardest Part, Rush Of Blood, Amsterdam (All been played on this tour so far) or even.. gasp.. finally tried to play the title track of the tour, Twisted Logic!! [/rant.] I'd like to claim ownership of those clear beach balls that were thrown around during the time between bands. Yes, those were my balls you were tossing around. Did anyone happen to get hold of one and read it before security removed what was clearly a high-risk violent weapon? I was stood right behind 2 girls wearing white and silver santa hats, which I think has been mentioned somewhere on here.. so.. if that was you.. hey :) thanks for not being tall/having an afro.

War Child: New version of 'How you see the world'
Tis wonderful :) A great reworking. Not much has changed, the odd guitar and extra backing vocals added. Lyrics are completely different and in my opinion, better. They're actually quite political! Finally this track is getting the attention it deserves.

Coldplay blow their chance at No.1 already this week.
Fear not, fellow fans of fantastic music. Todays music charts are not an accurate measure of the 'best' music around. They're a way of discerning what is selling. I will cite the horrid example of Speed Of Sound v Crazy Frog: While Speed Of Sound is the better song, undoubtably, to anyone.. even fans of the Crazy Frog will admit after some careful torture that it's not really a song. Merely an overgrown ringtone. (love that phrase, will coin it) So the battle is already unfair, since SoS is going up against a completely different kind of form of .. noise. It's like comparing toast and roast beef. I've lost faith in the British single buying public anyway. They simply do not care about good music anymore. It's all down to gimmicks. If Coldplay released Nappies they'd probably get it to number one, purely because it's silly. And silly is apparently what British folk want from their music. Idiots.

I think Coldplay are a better band for not having a number one, ever. It's really the only thing stopping them from being the biggest band in the UK. Everything else adds up, figures wise. Album sales, rocketing, sold out live shows. If they achieved chart success too it'd take some shine off the apple, if you'll pardon the pun.
